The Witch Trials[]
The chamber of lost souls[]
At he start of the first trials, Keiko gets a vision of somebody telling her the story of Kusonoki Masashige and the four beasts, what happened to them and their rampage across the earth. After this vision, Keiko walks across the bridge only to get a flash of Kazeko, one of her ancestors that fell victim to Kintoru's curse.
She finds a spirit in the forest and uses it to open the door and enters the chamber. Here, a voice tells her the story of the fleshbags, and also instructs her on how to escape the chamber, this being by stealing the scrolls and putting them in the right place. Keiko steals each of the four scrolls from each of the 4 flesh bags and makes her way to the exit of the chamber, finding herself in the forest.
The forest[]
She enters a house in the forest and is forced to sacrifice another butterfly spirit (which she feels bad for doing) in order to escape, she also encounters Kazeko face to face, Kazeko simply climbing on the ceiling and looking at Keiko, before disappearing. After escaping the house she makes it to the forest itself. Here, both Kazeko and Hanzu will hunt Keiko down as she finds keys and butterfly spirits in order to get the light and dark blade, which she offers in the big house in the middle in order to open the portal to Kyoto Town. Keiko succeeds in this and runs back to the entrance to the forest in order to go through the portal.
Kyoto Town[]
After exiting the forest, Keiko finds herself in Kyoto Town where she gets a vision, Futaba tells Keiko her backstory and how she got cursed by the witch. After this, Keiko has to complete 2 skull puzzles and steal the white spirit from Futao, and the corrupted spirit from Mote. Whilst doing this, she has to escaped Futaba (as Futao and Mote) and run into houses whenever they chase her. She burns the two spirits and exits Kyoto Town.
At the end of the final trial, Keiko sees Futaba hung up on a tree, Futaba realizes that she was not a bad mother and the Kintoru was simply controlling her and "made her this way". It is unknown how Keiko gets back to the real world.
Keiko's curse[]
At some point in her life, Keiko met a man named Daku, who she soon married. They then had a son together they named Yasu. Keiko is a very kind and loving mother and wife, as she sang Yasu a lullaby every night when he was younger and read him bedtime stories, and also comforted him when he mourned Juno's disappearance. She also loved her husband, Daku, as she showed concern when he started to have trouble walking and caught a cold, and looked for him when he disappeared in the school.
After the sudden disappearance of her husband, Daku, Keiko crossed paths with Kintoru at Yasu's school. Shortly thereafter, she was imprisoned in her own house’s basement for at least 30 days and was under Kintoru's curse.
Control's Book[]
Yasu finds himself in his old house, and attempts to find his parents. After walking into a room full of clocks, they all fell onto the ground and were smashed. Yasu then looks in his parent's bedroom, where he sees his mother before disappearing. Yasu decides to check the basement and finds a note saying that Keiko was locked in the basement for 30 days. After finding a crowbar to use on a boarded up area, Yasu finds Keiko's body lying in a room, confusing it for a Halloween prop. Suddenly, Keiko wakes up and jumpscares him before disappearing.
In Nightmare Mode, After Yasu escapes Tokito from the Bloody Swamp, he encounters Keiko (instead of Daku) roaming the halls of his old high-school. He then collects 12 butterfly spirits scattered around the school and is taken to Kusonoki's memorial.
Yasu enters a building and goes into a hallway which shifts in appearance, along with him hearing a familiar song that his mother used to sing to. He enters the code on a safe (using the roman numerals from the statue of Kusonoki), before getting jumpscared by Keiko while walking back to a hallway he passed earlier.
After freeing Kusonoki from the curse by burning 6 cursed items, Yasu is given his blade to use so he can kill Kintoru, and is also warned not to be deceived by her, as she'll always find a way to deceive him in the end. Yasu is then taken in Saigomo's Lair where he sees all his ancestors that were previously cursed by the witch. He then destroys all her hearts with the blade, which weakens her the more he attacks. Yasu is then given a choice to save his parents or finish Kintoru off, which determines the fate of his parents.
Bad Ending[]
If Yasu chooses to save his parents, he attempts to free them, only for it to be another trick by Kintoru. Yasu is then seen hanging on Saigomo's web, becoming another one of the witch's puppets. Kintoru then taunts him, remarking about how easy it is to deceive humans.
Good Ending[]
If Yasu choose to kill Kintoru, he finishes her off, ending her reign of terror for good. Suddenly, the Evil God appears in front of the witch, calling her a useless tool, before dragging her lifeless body back to Jigoku. The curse dematerializes and the ancestors move on to the afterlife. Yasu then appears to go back to his house, and is glad that his parents are safe, despite them having no memory of the events.
