Keiren is the main antagonist of the Galoa City arc in the light novel series Goodbye, Dragon Life.
She was voiced by Minami Tsuda.
Biography[]
Centuries ago, Keiren was born to an undisclosed family. Believing that she was born hideous, Keiren would, through unknown means, make a pact with a demon and gained access to forbidden magic.
For the next 300 years, Keiren would lure women from several races to the city to kill and harvest their parts for her own body. She had done this hundreds of times already, she had forgotten the exact number. For instance, she had killed arachnes, elves, and beastkin. During that time, she became the mage of the governor-general.
When she hears of the lamia Celina, Keiren sends for Governor Commissioner Gouda to collect her and bring her to the city even though she was given the blessing of the Goddess Myrale to stay in the Verun Village. Keiren greets her and Dolan and changes her mind on Celina determining her to be innocent. She then gives the two cups of tea that were laced knocking both out.
As she contemplated how to best dissect Celina, Dolan wakes up with the mad woman realizing that it was all a ploy orchestrated by Gouda. Christina and Olivia arrive along with some troops. Keiren reveals her true nature ranting that she was born ugly and that she was now the most beautiful being in existence. She then transforms into a grotesque monstrosity of herself composed of the bodies of the many young women who were killed in her research. Olivia considers summoning spirits, but the only issue was that since they were in the building, it would end up with them getting buried in the debris.
Celina and Christina both attack the mage with Celina using her "Evil Eye" to temporarily hold Keiren in place. Dolan would ultimately put an end to Keiren when he summons celestial javelins that obliterate her immediately.
