Kelly is the secondary antagonist in the 2019 sci fi horror musical tie-in film K-12, the partnering piece to the album of the same name by Melanie Martinez and also acts as the main antagonist in the music video for the second song Class Fight. She is the cruel and violent queen bee of K-12 Sleepaway School and the arch rival of Cry Baby.
She was portrayed by Maggie Budzyna.
Kelly is very self-centred and superstitious. She has a lot of fake friends and just wants to be popular and be admired. She doesn't like other people taking away her spotlight. She is also mean to Crybaby and bullies her. Kelly actually thinks that she is helpful, when she really just says hurtful remarks. She is also incredibly short fused.
Kelly is an an attractive girl of a slim and average build with fair skin and long dirty blonde hair in a beehive style. She is usually seen wearing the traditional K-12 uniform.
She is first seen sitting on the bus driving to the K-12 school, where she gossips with her friends until Brandon gets on of whom she instantly finds an attraction to. In a school lesson she starts to make advances on him, until realizes that Crybaby likes him too and purposefully teases her, lying to her friends that it was meant as nice advice. But then she sees Brandon talking to Crybaby which sends her into a fury, she rushes in a beats Cry Baby to a pulp before pulling out a knife and carving into her arm. Cry Baby loses it and uses her telekinesis to strangle Kelly. The teacher interrupts the fight however and brings the two girls to wait outside the Principal's office all the while, Brandon is left unnerved and put off from Crybaby, much to Kelly's liking.
After she managed to overthrow the Principal Kelly decides to invite Crybaby to eat lunch with her and her friend, who all have matching dresses and hairstyle. Kelly plans on ignoring her again later, but just wants to make her look more admirable in the cafeteria, Cry Baby refuses however not liking how fake everyone appears. When a food fight is started, Kelly is grossed out and tries to keep herself clean, until Leo the new principal enters and demands who started the fight, Kelly immediately snitches that Crybaby started it, resulting in her getting detention.
Kelly doesn't appear again until the film's climax where she is forced into dancing uncontrollably like everyone else in the auditorium, she is freed quickly however thanks to Cry Baby interfering with Leo's plot. In the end she evades the school before it is sent into the sky by Cry Baby and Ben and is last seen standing on the ruined grounds looking disappointed and defeated.
It's unknown if she will return in the confirmed third studio album and second film from Martinez however it is likely she will.
