Ken Franklin - main antagonist TV series Columbo in episode Murder By The Book. He was portrayed by to the late Jack Cassidy, who also played Riley Greenleaf and Great Santini in the same series.

Biographie[]

Franklin was a member of the writing duo. He did not have a talent for writing, which is why his partner James Ferris wrote books. Franklin, on the other hand, had numerous acquaintances in publishing houses, so he dealt with distribution. However, during interviews he never mentioned how his cooperation with Jim really looks like. That is why Ferris decided to end cooperation and start writing on his own. This did not like Franklin, who understood that he could lose his income and a rich life. That is why he decided to kill a partner, by the way using life insurance he and Jim had. One day Franklin appeared in a common office and began to threaten Jim weapons. Ferris then realized that Franklin was not going to shoot because there are no gloves, his finger does not lie on the trunk, and there are no cartridges in the chamber. Then Franklin smiled and offered alcohol a partner, then invited him for the weekend to his summer house at San Diego. Jim reluctantly agreed. When Jim talked to his wife, Franklin again aimed his weapon. This time it was not a joke and after a while Joanna heard a shot in the phone. A moment later Franklin finished the connection. When he was preparing to hide Jim, the phone rang. It was Joanna who informed him that she had heard a shot in the phone and worried about Jim. Franklin recommended her police notification. He declared himself that he would get into the car and come as soon as possible. After the conversation, Franklin poured himself a drink and raised a toast over Jim's body. Late in the evening he arrived at Joanna and began to calm her down. Then he met lieutenant Columbo. He invited a policeman to the office and gave him books about Miss Meanville by Columbo had inspiration during the investigation. He also gave the policeman a list of well -known gangsters, making it clear that one of them killed Jim, and the motive was to be the fact that Jim was writing his inspiration from real crimes when writing his novels. Shortly afterwards, Franklin tossed Jim's body on the lawn to create the appearance that the killer Ferris threatens him that he would either finish writing a novel or end like Jim. They both arranged to meet in a few days to end the transaction. Just on the day of their re -meeting, Columbo came to Franklin to give the books. Franklin was interviewing. The second meeting with Mrs. La Sanka was initially without any problems. When the woman converted the money, however, she was unexpectedly attacked by Franklin, who stunned her with a blow to the head. Franklin took an unconscious woman to the boat at the moment he sailed to the middle of the lake. There, he threw Mrs. La Sanka into the water, and with her empty champagne bottles to create a look that the woman drank while swimming on the lake and led to the derailment of her own boat. The next day the corpse of Mrs. La Sanka was found. Franklin watched police work. He had another conversation with lieutenant Columbo. A moment later, Franklin was arrested and led out of the office.
