~ Kenny Petrovic after a multiplayer mission. |
Kenny Petrovic is a overarching antagonist in Grand Theft Auto IV and a supporting one in Grand Theft Auto IV Multiplayer.
He is voiced by Richard Pruitt.
Biography[]
Past[]
Kenny Petrovic was born in Russia and later moved to Liberty City with an israeli passport with the intent of pursuing criminal activities. His father, a soldier during WWII, famously fought at Stalingrad against the Germans but is believed to have died during the war. Kenny's mother, however, is alive and resides in Liberty City, enjoying the comforts of American life. Initially, Kenny made his income by shipping stolen American cars back to Russia. Over time, he established his own criminal organization, becoming one of the most powerful Russian crime bosses in America. During this period, another prominent Russian Mafia faction led by Mikhail Faustin also rose to power.
Events of Grand Theft Auto IV[]
The two Russian Mafia organizations coexisted peacefully until Mikhail Faustin ordered Niko Bellic to kill Kenny's son, Lenny Petrovic, under the suspicion that he was a rat. Kenny, furious at the murder, prepared for war with Faustin. Faustin escalated tensions further by having Niko destroy one of Petrovic's garages with a truck full of explosives. However, Dimitri Rascalov, Faustin's second-in-command, sought to broker peace by offering Niko a job to assassinate Faustin. After Faustin’s death, Kenny chose not to destroy Faustin’s organization but instead formed an alliance with them.
Kenny leads a life filled with both business and scandal. He is unfaithful to his wife, maintaining relationships with several mistresses. His men are often tasked with managing the fallout from his affairs, such as escorting mistresses to safety or sabotaging businesses like hot dog stands to appease his Kosher girlfriend. Petrovic holds a grudge against the Angels of Death biker gang, orchestrating attacks on their drug deals and destroying their chapter leader's bike, Sexy Charlie, in retaliation for their destruction of one of his meth labs.
Despite his vices, Kenny is a shrewd businessman and maintains alliances with various figures across Liberty City, including Rami Yalon, Gordon Sargent, Little Jacob, and Brucie Kibbutz. His character is known for his resourcefulness and ambition, as well as his disdain for certain aspects of modern culture, like video games.
Grand Theft Auto IV Multiplayer[]
Shortly after the deaths of Jimmy Pegorino, Dimitri Rascalov, and Ray Bulgarin, Kenny Petrovic arrives in Liberty City. During the mission Hangman's NOOSE, Kenny is surrounded by NOOSE enforcers upon arriving at Francis International Airport. He promises cash to his goons in exchange for ensuring his safe transport to Charge Island.
In the mission Deal Breaker, Kenny orders his men to disrupt a meeting between unspecified Mafia members and the Angels of Death biker gang, targeting their drug smuggling operations from Canada.
During Bomb Da Base II, Petrovic tasks his hired goons with stopping the Albanian Mob from exporting stolen cars via ship. This business, he notes, was his first source of income in America. His men bomb the Platypus, a ship used by the Albanians, thereby halting their operation.
Kenny also appears in the multiplayer missions Mafiya Work and Team Mafiya Work, where players follow his orders to protect him, eliminate rivals, and handle his "Black List." In missions like Car Jack City and Team Car Jack City, players must steal specific vehicles or retrieve cars loaded with drugs on his behalf. Notably, Kenny expresses disdain for video games, considering them a harmful influence, and even orders players to destroy arcade machines before they can be delivered
