Kenta Takamura is the main antagonist of the 2021 action film Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins, a spin-off film of the G.I. Joe film series. He is a Yakuza crime boss and the cousin of Tommy Arashikage, whom he wanted to kill for banishing him from the Arashikage Clan. He is the arch-enemy of Snake Eyes.
He was portrayed by Takehiro Hira.
Biography[]
When Snake Eyes works as a cage fighter, Kenta came and offered him to work for him. Snake Eyes initially refuses, knowing Kenta is in a line of shady jobs, however, he agreed when Kenta promised to bring the man who killed his father if he works for him. Weeks later, Snake Eyes is seen working in the docks of Los Angeles, placing weapons inside large fish to be smuggled to Japan.
Kenta came to find him, and wants him to prove his loyalty by killing an captured man, who is revealed to be Tommy. He explains Tommy betrayed him and was his cousin. Snake Eyes hesistates, and despite Kenta tells him that are certain things must be done to get what he wants, Snake Eyes helps Tommy and fight their way out of the bay. Tommy tried to kill Kenta, but failed to do so due to having too many men to take on, and the duo being cornered into a truck, but escaped.
After Snake Eyes getting along with Tommy and started training for Arashikage Clan, Kenta called him so he can talk to him. Kenta praises Snake Eyes for able to get into the Arashikage Clan, and he wants the Jewel of the Sun, which is inside of the Arashikage Castle. Kenta later align himself with the terrorist organization COBRA, working with a high-ranking member called Baroness.
Later, Snake Eyes meets Kenta and Baroness in a fortified bunker. Snake Eyes realizes he was working with terrorists, and then states he wants out, however, Kenta shows the video of the man who killed his father, was imprisoned by him. Baroness warns him that if he do not secure the jewel for them, the man will be simply released. Having no choice, Snake Eyes went back to the castle, and attempting to steal the jewel.
When Snake Eyes gets the jewel, he hand it over to Kenta, who demostrated the power of it by incinerating a man alive. In return, Kenta shows the man who killed his father, like he promised, before leaving with Baroness. With the jewel, Kenta and his men stormed into the Arashikage Castle, and killing multiple ninjas. He even tried to kill Sen, the leader of the clan, but failed because she keeps dodging, eventually declares his supremacy over the clan. When Baroness asked Kenta to hand over the jewel, he refused and attacked her, as a result, Baroness formed an alliance with the Arashikage to stop Kenta.
As Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow and Akiko return to the castle, they pursue Kenta along with Sen, and managed to corner him. Tommy claims the jewel and attempt to use it, but Sen warned him not to use the jewel. Although he used it and failed to kill Kenta, Snake Eyes chases him to the forest, and threw him into the anaconda pit. There, Kenta slain one of the anacondas, but swiftly killed by the other two.
