Kenzo Kurita is an accomplice of the Red Spade gang and an antagonist in episode 3 of Tokusou Exceedraft.
He is portrayed by Koji Yamanaka.
Biography[]
The father of Hideo Kurita, Kenzo hoped that his son would one day succeed him as chief of the factory he owned. However, Hideo shocked his father by choosing to become a police detective instead and leaving to join Interpol. After his son was killed by Bill Iwaki while trying to apprehend him, Kenzo fell into despair and neglected his factory's management, causing it to go out of business. Kenzo would later be approached by members of the Red Spade gang, who offered to help him avenge his son by killing Bill Iwaki. Unbeknownst to Kenzo however, the Red Spade were in fact the ones who had ordered Bill Iwaki to commit the crime that had led to Hideo's death.
The Red Spade supplied Kenzo with several bombs and two Humanoids, robots who resembled humans, in order to enact their plan, which involved taking a building full of civilians hostage and demanding Bill Iwaki be handed to them in exchange for the lives of the civilians. After Exceedraft spotted Kenzo on the top of the building however, they were able to apprehend him and obtain the detonator to the bombs, safely disarming them. Kenzo would then reveal that those were not the only bombs planted in the building as the Humanoids activated the bombs planted in them, but Exceedraft was able to rescue the civilians in time. As this was going on, Hayato spoke with Kenzo and revealed that Hideo had been his partner, and that he had been a good cop who had joined to help others, helping Kenzo to move on from his son's death.
After Kenzo was arrested, he cooperated fully with the police, telling them everything he knew about the man who had approached them and giving them their first major clue as to the existence of the Red Spade gang.
