Keukegen is the Yeti and disease-themed Youkai who served the Youkai Army Corps, initially working independently before being forced to serve Gashadokuro. He is a minor antagonist in Ninja Sentai Kakuranger, serving as a minor antagonist in the fourth episode and the main antagonist of the 14th.
He is played and voiced by Hiroshi Ookouchi who later voiced Bara Fraud in Chouriki Sentai Ohranger.
Personality[]
Keukegen was a violent sadist who enjoyed making people violently sick with his hairballs and enjoyed being able to kill the Beast General Fighters without an issue after chains restrained them.
Biography[]
Past[]
Keukegen first came to be when humanity's negative emotions physically manifested and formed thier own group under the leadership of the most powerful of thier kind; Daimaou. One thousand years ago, Keukegen was among the army of Yokai who attacked Ninjaman whilst he defended a village. Keukegen was evidently able to escape alive but Ninjaman was banished by the Three God Generals as he slaughtered his entire village after mistaking them for Yokai.
Keukegen was ultimately among the Yokai who managed to avoid being sealed behind the Seal Door by the Ancient Kakurangers but was reduced to a human form when the Yo Power was sealed with Daimaou.
Kakuranger[]
By 1994, Keukegen has evolved into a more human-like form by the time that the Yo Power is released by Kappa. He takes up residence in the same neighbourhood led by Azukiarai and becomes an underling serving under him.
Keukegen is amongst the Youkai seen at Azukiarai's underground party to celebrate his capture of four of the Kakurangers. When Sasuke poses as a Youkai and manages to free his friends, Keukegen joins the battle before escaping when the Kakurangers pursue Azukairai outside.
After the deaths of Nurikabe and Mokumokuren, Keukegen is seen dancing in the Youkai Mansion after the Announcer reminds the audience that they are just two of many Youkai still out there.
Keukegen is amongst the Youkai seen at Oonyuudou's party to celebrate miniaturising an entire town for himself to play with.
Keukegen takes up practice as a doctor who performs cruel operations on humans but gets few patients so he starts infecting humans with his virus so he can treat them. After the death of Kanedama, Keukegen emerges as a threat when he poisons the city of Tokyo with hairballs that cause intense infection. Keukegen is first seen disguised an elderly doctor when he examines Seikai after he got food poisoning. However, he soon reveals himself as a Yokai when he begins to shake his hairballs which rain down on Tokyo. The Kakurangers have followed him though after he overtook Nekomaru on foot and morph so he fights them. When he attempts to infect them , they vanish with the Art of Disappearance before cutting him down. Even so, he continues to overwhelm them until Sasuke injures him with caltrops and defeating him with the Full Moon Slash. Enraged, Keukegen grows to giant size so they summon the Beast General Fighters who brutally beat him down. Before they can kill him however, Gashadokuro appears for the first time and saves Keukegen who he wants to use in his new plan.
Keukegen is teleported to Gashadokuro's mansion in the midst of his Youkai concert but is brutally beaten for being a failure. He is then dragged to Professor Yugami (now working for Junior) who introduces the Youkai Prince to Keukegen before upgrading him with a massive arm cannon to use to kill the Kakurangers. Keukegen swiftly returns to Tokyo as a giant, going on a rampage as he levels multiple buildings. The Kakurangers summon the Beast General Fighters but he summons chains and restrains the mecha and is about to kill them when the Kakurangers merge with thier Fighters. With the power boost, they break the chains and beat down Keukegen before killing him with the Fighter Crash. With Keukegen gone, his effects wear off and his victims are freed from thier ailments.
Keukegen is one of four potential Yokai husbands who Sunakake Babaa dreamed of marrying before turning to Daimaou himself after they are all killed by the Kakurangers.
Keukegen is recalled by the Announcer whilst recapping the Kakurangers' war against the Yokai during his feature on the Kakurangers.
Keukegen is seen, along with all the other defeated Yokai, behind the Seal Door after Daimaou is finally sealed away by the Kakurangers. Reeling that they are now powerless in captivity, the Yokai all vow that they will one day be reborn and regain their power, cursing humanity.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Strength: Keukegen was able to take down the Kakurangers with single punches and destroy entire buildings with one punch when giant.
- Durability: Keukegen survived Sasuke's Full Moon Slash without a scratch, was unfazed by multiple slashes from the Kakuremaru and fell off a building onto concrete without injury. When giant, multiple punches and kicks from the Beast General Fighters did little to faze him.
- Super Speed: Keukegen could run faster than Nekomaru could drive and even outran it.
- Super Jumps: Keukegen was able to jump from the ground onto the top of a tall skyscraper with a single leap.
- Quick Reflexes: Keukegen was able to catch Seikai's Kakuremaru mid-jump slash in his claws as well as knock down a barrage of shuriken from Sasuke.
- Longevity: Keukegen survived for at least six thousand years with no side effects.
- Human Form: Keukegen could assume the form of a human doctor by fading in and out of existence.
- Gender Transformation: Keukegen could also assume the form of two women to entertain the Youkai as seen after Mokumokuren's death.
- Sickness Spreading: Keukegen could shake his body to spew hairballs that, when they entered someone's mouth, would make them violently sick.
- Yokai Lightning Cloud Summoning: Keukegen was able to summon the Yokai Lightning Cloud to enlarge himself with its Yo Power.
- Expert Marksman: Keukegen was able to shoot the Beast General Fighters out of the sky mid-attack with his arm cannon.
Arsenal[]
- Claws: Being a Yeti-like Youkai, Keukegen had razor sharp claws to use in combat.
- Hedge Clippers: Keukegen could pull out a giant pair of garden shears to throw at his enemies.
- Arm Cannon: After being upgraded by Professor Yugami, Keukegen had a massive silver cannon in place of a right arm. It could fire white blasts of smoke strong enough to wipe out the Beast General Fighters with one hit.
