Kevin Donohue is a supporting antagonist in the Rizzoli & Isles novel "The Silent Girl". Gilmore is an Irish mobster and a major suspect in the Red Dragon massacre, a mass murder at a restaurant in Boston's Chinatown where one of Donohue's affiliates was murdered.

Biography[]

Little is known about Donohue, except he rose the ranks in the local Irish mob in Boston to be one of the worst figures. He contacts as far as dirty cops inside the police department, and he was reported to be trafficking women and girls for forced prostitution. One of his subordinates, Joey Gilmore, was killed in the Red Dragon restaurant with four other people, including Wu Weimin, the cook who was framed when his murder was staged as a suicide. Nineteen years later, when two hired killers are after the massacre's witnesses, only to be murdered by an unseen vigilante figure, Detective Jane Rizzoli figures the answers lie in the mass murder. Donohue is suspected by the execution-style murders and Gilmore being one of the victims. As he hates the rep it gives him as a mobster, he calls Rizzoli personally after getting her number from one of his police moles. He insists to speak with Rizzoli, emphasizing he's not guilty of the massacre and making veiled threats for if she digs into his operations. But he does reveal he got obituaries of the victims of the massacre, like their loved ones did, every anniversary of the murders. When another obit came with the message "IT'S COMING FOR YOU", he panicked and made Rizzoli come speak with him to get answers. The vigilante cut the power of his warehouse, leading to Rizzoli looking for them with one of the bodyguards. The bodyguard wildly fires around the warehouse when the vigilante is too fast. The moment they would end up getting shot once they were seen, Rizzoli stopped the bodyguard so the vigilante could escape, as she was saved narrowly by the vigilante when one of the hired assassins tried to kill her. Donohue was eventually cleared of suspicion in the massacre and recent killings, with his status regarding his crimes being left unknown in the end.
