Kevin Spencer is the main protagonist/anti-hero of the Comedy Network (now CTV Comedy Channel) animated series Kevin Spencer. He is a 16 year old teenager who resides in a middle-class neighborhood with his parents Percy Spencer and Anastasia Spencer.
The narrator speaks for Kevin. But in a few episodes and the unaired pilot, Kevin does speak without the narrator. In the episode "Dreamland", he was voiced by Connie Bernardi while in the series finale and unaired pilot, he was voiced by series creator Greg Lawrence.
Appearance[]
Kevin is a pale skinned teenage boy and is almost-always seen with a black baseball cap. Underneath his hat is short messy black hair. He wears an orange V-neck sweater with a pocket on the right side, blue jeans with dark red pockets, and black boots.
Personality[]
Kevin is a full-blown sociopath addicted to cough syrup and cigarettes. He is primarily guided by emotion and acts to satisfy his immediate needs and desires with no regard to future consequences. Kevin has little patience for the world at large and has simplified his life down to the pursuit of a few basic needs: more cough syrup and booze, more cigarettes and "straightening things out". However, beneath this exterior lies a likeable anti-hero just trying to stake-out his little claim to the world. Kevin's only desire in the world is to "just fit in". Despite his never-ending failures in this quest, he nevertheless continues to pick himself up and try again.
Biography[]
Kevin was born on April 16th, 1983, along with his twin brother "Bradley Depalma". When they were 4 days old, their father declared that him and his wife Anastasia couldn't take care of a pair of twins as it would cost too much money. Anastasia chose Kevin because he didn't feel any emotion and wouldn't be a bother to her and Percy. They then decide to give Bradley away to a wealthy family from Los Angeles.
When Kevin was 6, he had wished for a puppy of his very own and had hope he would get a dog for his 7th birthday. When the time came, his parents left a big present box in the kitchen for him. When he opened it up it was just underwear and socks. He then heard a timid little bark from the living room. It turned out to be a new puppy named Ollie. Kevin decided it would be his new best friend. A few weeks later, he had woken up in a very bad mood so he decided to get some pop tarts and kill Ollie. He then proceeded to stab Ollie.
When Kevin was 9, he had been forced to go to school by his parents otherwise they would be arrested. Kevin hated gym class the most, since he would always be picked last whenever the other kids were picking their partners. One day Kevin had enough and left to the teacher's parking lot and was really bored. He then figured he was lonely. Then he first imagined Allen The Magic Goose. Allen would help Kevin stand up for himself. Allen was Kevin's first ever friend, who was imaginary. Kevin would constantly get arrested and sent to a Juvenile Hall or a Mental Institute. Once when he was sent to a mental insitution he met Pete Wilcox, who had Multiple Personality Disorder. Pete thought Kevin was the messiah. Kevin believed Pete was even crazier than he was, but since he was willing to do whatever Kevin told him to do, him and Allen thought it was a good deal. Pete became Kevin's first real friend.
When he was 16, he had first been sent to an adult prison for the first time in his life after being sent to many different Juvenile Halls and Mental Health Facilities. Kevin was scared because all the convicts had looked very mean, and he remembered when an ex-convict he used to hang out with telling him that if people weren't afraid of you in prison, then they'd take advantage of you. Every 3 days of the week. Kevin would be sent to see a prison psychatrist named Mr. Franklin. He would tell Mr. Franklin about past experiences before he was sent to the adult prison. After Season 1, Kevin would be released from prison off-screen. But would be sent back a few times throughout the rest of the show.
Once Kevin had a lawn dart go through inside his head which caused him to feel emotion. When his mother Anastasia when to go see him, she had mistaken him for another kid that resembles a wealthy and cleaner version of Kevin. When they got home, she told Percy about it and asked him if he think it could be- but Percy tells her that they're not supposed to talk about "that" in front of Kevin. They then decide to finally tell Kevin about his twin brother. Kevin then cries about it and Percy calls him a p*ssy for "crying at any old thing". Kevin then gets really upset about it and starts banging on the kitchen table. Percy then leaves to go drinking. And that's when Kevin realizes that he liked drinking too. So Kevin had calmed down. While at the bar, Allen warns him that finding his twin brother is a dangerous uncharted road, fraught with emotional peril. Kevin then tries goes to LA on a bus after finding out that is where his twin brother Bradley Depalma resides. While on the bus, it crashes and which Kevin runs away back home after the surviving passangers resort to cannibalism to survive.
Weeks later, Kevin gets his parents into a game show in LA, so he could find Bradley. While there, he gets buzzed on New Mexico Salsa Cough Syrup and passes out. When he wakes up he finds himself in a limo with Bradley. Bradley's life turns out to be like Kevin's, but just richer. He takes Kevin to a really swanky rehab, where Bradley has a private footbath room. He then invites Kevin to attend his High School Graduation where he got to graduate 3 years early since he was so smart. Bradley made a speech and told everyone that the best part of the night was that he had finally re-united with his long lost twin brother. Bradley's adoptive mother then realizes who it is. Bradley asks her if Kevin can come stay with them. His adoptive mother replies with that the family can't support that sort of scandal, and that if his aunts and uncles find out that Bradley is adopted that they would cut them from Bradley's Granddaddy's will and takes Bradley away.

Around the time Kevin's mom died. his dad Percy started decomposing slowly from necrotizing fasciitis. And Kevin finally stands up to Percy and they decide to finally leave from the town forever after Kevin's old psychatrist Mr. Franklin tries to assasinate him for causing him to end up in a mental hospital. While they get away from the town, Kevin decides to pick up his mother's dead body and give her a proper burial after being in a morgue for the past 4 days. After he gets her body, Mr. Franklin finds him, and Percy is only a head. Percy tells Allen "You's f*cked now Bird!" and laughs. Allen then kicks his head away and Percy screams. Allen tells Kevin let's go. But Kevin decided to leave without him, telling him "Goodbye Allen." and leaves. But the car ends up exploding. Either from Kevin crashing into something. A random decision made by creator Greg Lawrence, or Mr. Franklin had hijacked the car for it to explode. Mr. Franklin then takes in Allen, which reveals the entire show had been in Allen's head the whole time.
