Kholdstone is a minor antagonist in Shotaro Ishinomori's comic adaptation of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. He is based on Kholdstare from the SNES game of the same name.
Appearance[]
Kholdstone is a giant stalactite made of ice with a singular eye.
Personality[]
Kholdstone shows himself as one for the fancy when he shows Link the frozen monsters in his abode. When Link attacks the Stalfos Kholdstone summoned, the ice monster warns him that it serves to risk the destruction of the map.
Powers and Skills[]
While Kholdstone is capable of freezing monsters in ice, he can break out at least Stalfos to deal with any intruder who enters his lair. However, given that he is part of his own lair, he cannot move or attack himself.
Biography[]
Link enters an icy dungeon in hopes of finding a map when greeted by Kholdstone who shows off the frozen monsters in parts of his lair. Link demands Kholdstone to show him the map of the Dark World in desperation to save Zelda.
Unwilling to let Link have the map, Kholdstone frees the Stalfos and orders them to kill Link. As Link is getting desperate to get the map, Kholdstone comments on Link's temper and warns him against destroying the place as he might lose the map.
Link then realizes that the floor is the map and tries to locate Turtle Rock. Link takes a look at the dark floor and is able to locate it before the dungeon collapses, presumably taking Kholdstone with it.
