The unnamed kidnappers are minor antagonists of the fantasy light novel, manga and anime series The Eminence in Shadow. They are a duo of ex-military men who kidnapped a high school student, Akane Nishino.
Biography[]
Prologue[]
At night Nishino tries to make a call to her driver, but her servant is unable to respond to the phone call due to being assaulted by some men who beat him presumably to death. Hearing no answers, she decides to walk home all by herself. While walking in the windy weather in the neighbourhood, she is disturbed by a footstep and turns around where she hears it but sees nothing. As she tries to continue walking like she did, she bumps into a man. She tries to run away in another direction but is cornered by a car. The man who beat Nishino's driver comes out of his car to restrain the girl as his friends aid him. Having put Nishino into an unconscious state, one of the men orders to get her into the car as one of Nishino's classmates, Minoru Kageno observes the situation from far away.
Sometime after, Nishino finds herself in an old building as she wakes up lying on the floor tied by ropes, looking toward the night sky. One of the kidnappers sadistically comments that she should wander around the street at night as a daughter of the head of Nishino Zaibatsu. The other men beside him tell him to stop talking. The man walks toward the girl and tries to take off her uniform but is interrupted by a noise that comes from the roof of the building. He is startled to see someone standing at the window of the selling and questions by yelling who is there? The masked individual breaks into the building and lands on the floor declaring that he is just a Stylish Ruffian Slayer.
Annoyed, the man pulls his gun out and points it at him but receives a knife from him before getting charged by the masked person. He quickly takes him down by crushing his face with his foot. The other man drops his gun down, stating that he is someone who received military training, and declares him in a battle as he pulls his knife out. Charging toward the boy, he manages to wound him in the arm. His second attack however is blocked by a wrecking bar that the mysterious now wields. He strikes the kidnapper and soon seems to take the upper hand as he pulls out a second wrecking bar. The man now decides to fight barehand and blow him away with a kick as he comments he is a good fighter but has left some major weaknesses. Declaring now he is getting serious, he charges at the man and lands his bar on his wrist. Saying that he makes a practice by beating up a group of motorcycle gangs at night, he questions and realizes that he is the Balaclava Berserker.
He attempts to grab his gun on the floor but is averted by his bar, before receiving a heavy blow in his leg, then his shoulder. As he begs for mercy, he is constantly hit by the masked person's crowbar. The man now lying on the floor still alive, the boy walks toward Nishino, who witnesses the brutal fight. He grabs the kidnapper's knife and frees her. She then opens her eyes and sees her untied as the mysterious person had restrained the two kidnappers. Later on, Nishino called the police and the ambulance arrived to take away the kidnappers.
Episode 32[]
One of the kidnappers attack Akane once again.
After a timeskip of 3 years, after the death of Minoru Kagenou, the Kidnappers, now with futuristic gears equipped, they surround and kidnap Akane Nishino once again, in the same way and location as they did back then. One of them tries to continue to assault Akane until someone in black appears from sky at night, to which the kidnapper immediately recognized him as Minoru, who is know Shadow, before the end of Season 2.
