- NOTE: This article is about the incarnation of Kilg%re from Justice League x RWBY. The mainstream version can be found here: Kilg%re (DC).
“ | He's in here, safe and sound. Been fun to run around with you guys instead of from you for a change. You all think you're so smart, but you didn't think twice about what was going on with the Scarlet Speedster! It was so easy to trip you up and keep you guessing. You may think Brainiac or Vandal Savage are smarter than me... but I have done what they couldn't. I have trapped the Justice League! | „ |
~ Kilg%re revealing himself and his possession of The Flash. |
“ | I WILL DESTROY YOU!!! | „ |
~ Kilg%re after merging with the Wyvern. |
“ | You think this is a prison?! This is my realm, Justice League! Keeping me here will only make me stronger, and then I will kill you! | „ |
~ Kilg%re's last words before he and Watts are trapped inside the holotrap. |
Killg%re is the secondary antagonist of the 2023 two-part crossover film Justice League x RWBY: Super Heroes & Huntsmen.
He is a narcissistic artificial intelligence with the ability to manipulate technology, and an enemy of the Justice League. After coming into contact with a digital copy of Dr. Arthur Watts , he would work with him to create a Dust-powered virtual reality simulation designed to trap their respective enemies, even though Kilg%re was betrayed and trapped as well. Once successful in this, Kilg%re took possession of Barry Allen/The Flash within his virtual world in order to observe his captives and assure their destruction at the hands of his simulated Grimm.
He was voiced by Tru Valentino. While possessing the Flash, he was voiced by David Errigo Jr. as his teenage form and by David Dastmalchian as an adult. While posing as Pyrrah Nikos, he was voiced by Jen Brown. While possessing Wonder Woman, he was voiced by Laura Bailey. While possessing Yang Xiao Long, he was voiced by Barbara Dunkelman. While possessing Green Lantern, he was voiced by Jeannie Tirado. While possessing Arthur Watts, he was voiced by Christopher Sabat.
Description[]
Appearance[]
To be written...
Personality[]
Killg%re is a dangerous artificial intelligence with a massive ego and an obsessive hatred for heroes; particularly the Justice League. He was willing to conspire with an unknown villain to lure his enemies and trap them in a simulation from another universe, though he ended up betrayed and trapped as well.
Powers and Abilities[]
In his physical body, Killg%re was apparently strong enough to fight off the combined might of Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Flash, Vixen, Cyborg and Green Lantern. After becoming a disembodied essence, he was able to somewhat control a simulated environment and possess individuals such as the Flash as well as artificial constructs like a Grimm Wyvern.
Biography[]
Past[]
Kilg%re's past is unknown, although he presumably has the same origins as his mainstream counterpart, being an electro-mechano-organic intelligence who arrived on Earth intending to conquer it and destroy humanity. However, his plans were foiled numerous times by the Justice League, who seemingly didn't regard him as highly as their other enemies. At some point, he came into contact with a villain from the world of Remnant, with whom he struck up a partnership. Kilg%re and his partner began working together to design a virtual reality simulation powered by Remnant's Dust, with which he planned to trap the Justice League. In return for his help, Kilg%re agreed to his partner's request to trap his enemies, Team RWBY and Team JNPR, as well.
When the time came to implement their plan, Kilg%re engaged the Justice League—Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern (Jessica Cruz), Vixen and Cyborg—and transported them into his virtual world. At the same time, he tampered with a training simulation being used by Team RWBY and Team JNPR, trapping them as well. As a result, all of the heroes would arrive in a simulated version of Remnant; altering the memories of Team RWBY and JNPR, and reducing the Justice League members to weaker, teenage versions of themselves with Semblance and Faunus-based abilities. Kilg%re then transported himself into the simulation, where he took possession of The Flash in order to watch the heroes struggle and personally destroy them. Unbeknownst to him, his partner used this opportunity to dispose of him as well by leaving him trapped inside the simulation.
Justice League x RWBY: Super Heroes and Huntsmen, Part One[]
Posing as the Flash[]
Kilg%re, in Flash's body, is first seen in Beacon Academy receiving a lecture about Semblances and Dust from Glinda Goodwitch, alongside Jessica Cruz, Vixen, Cyborg and Team JNPR. Flash expresses disinterest in the lesson as he already understands how Dust works. Vixen then picks up something off about his scent and asks how he knew about Dust—Flash replying that she would know the answers too if she payed attention. Seeing that her class is uninterested in listening, Glynda instead takes them to the training room, where the League members battle Team JNPR. Flash manages to easily evade and outmaneuver Team JNPR's attacks until he is struck down by Nora, empowered by Cyborg's electricity.
Superman, Wonder Woman and Team RWBY arrive and reunite with their respective friends, which causes Glynda and Ozpin/Oscar to mysteriously glitch out of reality. The teams officially meet, and discuss what has happened; Cyborg and Vixen suspecting Brainiac or Vandal Savage as the ones who engineered their situation due to their respective uses of technology and time travel. Flash proposes Kilg%re as the culprit, which the League is dismissive of. The teams decide to split into three groups to locate Jessica's Green Lantern Ring, find Weiss and Batman in Atlas, and investigate the emergence of powerful, Dust-resistant Grimm.
Flash joins Superman, Cyborg, Vixen, Ruby, Nora and Ren in investigating the Grimm in the woods, where they engage a Wyvern creating an army of smaller Grimm. As the battle begins, Flash becomes mysteriously weakened and collapses. Nora manages to defeat the Wyvern and all the Grimm with help from Cyborg, and Flash recovers; although the Wyvern is quickly restored and joined by a Leviathan.
As they search for her Ring, Jessica activates her Semblance ability with help from Jaune. The Semblance transports them both into a white void, and they determine that it reveals things as they. They realize that someone has transported them into a simulation they can control, and escape a hostile security device. As they rush to warn the others, Jessica and Jaune find themselves unable to escape Beacon; Jaune is forced to call Pyrrha for help, whom he has been hearing since the simulation began. Pyrrha—controlled by Kilg%re—leads Jessica and Jaune into the lecture hall and reveals herself, offering to help them escape. However, she instead traps them inside of a closet, unwilling to let them warn the Justice League. The closet walls soon begin to close in to crush them, although they are able to use their Semblances to escape.
In Atlas, Batman and Weiss learn that someone is running a program on the Cross Communication Transit System to disable it and keep them from locating their teams. After being saved from an army of Grimm by Wonder Woman, Blake and Yang, they manage to alter it and head out to aid their friends.
Exposed at the Final Battle[]
In the battle against the Grimm, Superman tells Ruby about how his hesitation as a leader caused the League to be captured. He then watches Ruby save Flash from being crushed by the Leviathan; remembering that Flash was grabbed by Kilg%re before they arrived in the simulation, becoming suspicious. Superman approaches Flash and declares that they need to talk, although the Grimm begin to overpower them before this can happen. As the battle continues, Vixen spots her missing Tantu Totem briefly appear around Flash's neck. The rest of the heroes reconvene at the battle, where Jessica announces that everything is a simulation. Batman arrives and says that he has the answer to who is controlling the simulation, and both he and Superman turn their attention towards Flash.
Batman declares running the simulation would require a massive amount of energy, even with the use of siphoned Dust, and that Flash has been running slower than he should be. He continues, saying that Flash has been running one program on every computer in the simulation—Kilg%re. Flash attempts to flee before being caught by Superman, who demands to know what happened to the real Flash. Kilg%re reveals himself, explaining that Flash is trapped within his mind. He uses his control over the simulation to free himself, declaring that he has done what the League's other enemies couldn't do in trapping them. Ruby points out that he has trapped her friends as well and that his plan doesn't make sense; Batman then deduces that Kilg%re must be working with someone else.
Kilg%re denies this and battles the heroes, boasting about his plan. Batman questions why Kilg%re is still around if he managed to trap them, realizing that he is also trapped. Kilg%re rants that it was his idea to power the simulation with Dust, and explains the details of his partnership to his enemies, specifically taunting Ruby for her inexperience as a leader. Superman manages to bolster Ruby's spirit, and with her, Batman and Weiss, overpowers the weakening Kilg%re. Weiss traps Kilg%re using her Glyphs, and Batman signals Flash to take back control of his body; having figured out that Flash was still awake after noticing him signaling in Morse Code.
Ejected from Flash's body, Klg%re instead takes control of the Wyvern, screaming that he will destroy them. RWBY, JNPR and the League face off with Kilg%re and his army; forming a plan to have Jessica separate Kilg%re and the Wyvern, as Kilg%re cannot replicate it now that he is controlling it. The heroes destroy most of the Grimm, causing Kilg%re to become overtaxed again, distracting him while Ruby moves Jaune and Jessica. Jessica uses her Semblance on Kilg%re, separating him from the Wyvern and removing him from the simulation. With Kilg%re gone, his influence over the simulation vanishes, and Batman, Cyborg and Jessica create portals to return the League, RWBY and JNPR to Earth and Remnant respectively. On Remnant, RWBY and JNPR awaken, and recognize that someone from their world helped Kilg%re create the simulation.
Justice League x RWBY: Super Heroes and Huntsmen, Part Two[]
Devising their plans to kill the heroes[]
Kilg%re will appear again in the second part, having escaped from the virtual reality simulation and brought Grimm over to the DC Universe. However, Flash is still traumatized of what happened when Kilg%re possessed him as he starts seeing hallucination and hearing voices of him. While Batman and Vixen are fighting against the Grimms, the Goliath appears in front of them to attack them until Cyborg arrives and trapped him in a bubble barrier, but the elephant Grimm managed to break free and revealed himself to be Kilg%re in possession. Cyborg then charged at him and punched him in the skull, creating a yellow crack on it. Batman was about to do something until he got poisoned by Death Stalker's stringer. Kilg%re mockingly reveals that Arthur is changing the Grimms to fight the Justice League and saying how it's time to shine before he leaves while laughing menacingly.
When Kilg%re return to the lab, he meets up with the digital copy of Arthur Watts who was asking about the success of the mission and he replied they should used the poison on the rest of Justice League. Watts reminds him that poisons doesn't work on others because they have powers and they need to take down Batman so he wouldn't get in their way. Kilg%re began to argue that he's an A.I. who claims himself to be stronger than digital realm while Watts doesn't even have a body and just the first digital world didn't work doesn't mean they could try again. Watts assured him the sooner they fix the program, the sooner they enter the phase three, even if it means having to destroy the Justice League again.
After his body is modified into Beringels', he asked Watts how come this takes so long despite having impressed with his specifications for the Grimm. Watts replied that Grimms in the DC Universe aren't hard to program, but their project is not as simple. They discovered the Team RWBY has managed to get into the DC Universe and devise their plans to destroy the heroes. Watts then mocked him for being managed to get himself lost in Remnant's cyberspace while Kilg%re argued that he used the same method to escape when he died. After Watts argued he needs his guidance in killing the Justice League, Kilg%re went to fix hiss voice modulator. After that, Watts assured Kilg%re they'll be ready to finish the heroes since they are stronger now that he's here, no matter the obstacles. He orders Kilg%re to fix the chamber before they could move onto the final piece of his plan is about to fall into place and it will be masterful. Kilg%re later hacked into Hall of Justice League's computer to contact the Justice League and asked for their help to team up against Watts behind his back, much to the heroes' suspicions of what he's doing.
Teaming up with Watts and confronting the heroes[]
Kilg%re meets up with Team RWBY and Justice League, but his partner Watts showed up and knew what they're up to. Blake then reveals three of DC supervillains, Killer Croc, Weather Wizard and Mirror Master, causing Kilg%re to realize they're teaming up with the heroes. The three supervillains then proceed to trap both Kilg%re and Watts inside a holotrap so they could be finished by the heroes. After Arthur realized Cyborg is harnessing Dust algorithm and about what happened, he and Kilg%re decide to take matters into their own hands by taking control of the holotrap to torture the heroes. The city was changed into an Amity Colosseum where he takes possession of Wonder Woman before it was changed into an Emerald Forest. He went to fought both Yang and Ruby and easily gained the upperhand on them before he was grabbed by both Yang and Superman. After Watts changing the forest into Gotham City, he began to possess Yang and attack the heroes. When he was cornered, Flash begged Kilg%re to take him instead, but an AI mocked him for being a mess and became traumatized since the last time he possessed him. Now facing his fear of Kilg%re, Flash then used his superpower to break Yang free from his possession and fought with him inside.
Realized he can possess anyone as long as he wants, Kilg%re went to possess the Green Lantern when she tried to hold him off. As the Gotham City changed into Atlas, Kilg%re continues to fight them off until he lost his control over the holotrap after Cyborg finished hacking into all artificial Grimms. When Watts was confronted by Team RWBY and admits that he intends to trap Kilg%re inside the first digital world, Kilg%re began to possess him and began to argue each other before Team RWBY and Justice League could leave them to be trappedd inside the holotrap. Without both of them, the articial Grimms around the DC Universe has disappeared as well and the Team RWBY went back to Remnant after that.
Quotes[]
Part One[]
“ | Kilg%re: Did you see anyone else here? I trapped you forever in this digital world. I used their precious dust to power it. Me, and no one else. Batman: Then why are you still here? That's why you've been running the sequence on all systems. You're trapped, too. Kilg%re: I gave him the idea to power this realm with dust from his world. This construct was useless without me! But I required no payment for my genius. I simply asked to use this place. It was a perfect plan. Bring my enemies into this world, transform them into teens so they would be at their most vulnerable, rife with hormones and insecurities, while I watched as this world ripped you apart. And he agreed, on the condition that I trap his enemies as well. I digitally transferred you all here and watched you struggle with all the emotions your adult selves ignore. Or repress. It's been said I am an electrical wire short of a full panel. But you all folded so easily. (chuckles) You, especially. A child pretending to be a leader. (laughs) Delicious. |

We needed to take out Batman first, before he ruins our plan. Kilg%re: Sure, whatever. Arthur Watts: Not whatever. He's your world's greatest detective. We had to incapacitate him so he won't figure out our plan. I won't allow us to fail. Again. Kilg%re: So then why are we doing this offline? I'm an A.I., remember? I'm stronger in the digital realm, and you don't even have a body. Just because the first digital world didn't work doesn't mean we couldn't try again. Arthur Watts: Do you understand the definition of insanity? Kilg%re: Obviously! Ugh! You treat me like a child. Arthur Watts: I didn't think they'd manage to create a portal between worlds! Kilg%re: I did. Arthur Watts: Ha. Yes. When you managed to get yourself lost in Remnant's cyberspace. Kilg%re: Well I didn't hear you complaining when you used the same method to escape here when you died! If it weren't for me, you'd still be stuck under Atlas! Arthur Watts: You needed guidance in killing the Justice League! Kilg%re: And how's that going? Hmm? Arthur Watts: I was not the one who failed to succeed in the digital world. Trivia[]
- Kilg%re's plan of trapping the Justice League, Team RWBY and Team JNPR inside of a simulation is possibly a reference to the events of The Flash #42 and #43, in which Kilg%re similarly trapped Flash inside a virtual simulation as part of its plan to fake its own death.
- His possession of the Flash is also likely an allusion to his debut as a Flash villain.
- Kilg%re takes the role of Starro the Conqueror from the original RWBY x Justice League comic. Due to the film being a loose adaptation, their respective plans are wildly different, although they similarly employ new, empowered Grimm to destroy their enemies, and take possession of the heroes—although Kilg%re only took possession of the Flash and Pyrrha as opposed to most of Remnant.
