Biography[]
Heroes of Might and Magic III: Armageddon's Blade[]
Kilgor was the son of a barbarian clan leader. He didn't really take part in wars in the beginning, but rather hunted for behemoths. However, even as a young man, he had great desires and a hunger for power, and then one day he challenged his own father to a duel and killed him, taking over the leadership of the clan. His only desire, then, was to gain complete control over Krewlod and the throne. A contest, the Festival of Life was held every thirty years. The point was that the young barbarians were given the opportunity to take the throne from the king.
Kilgor was considered a chance by many, but he also had to stand up to some trials. He had to defeat an infamous monster, Razor Claw, which was an ancient behemoth. The monster kept an area in constant terror with his family. Kilgor was a little surprised because he had only hunted behemoths, not ancient behemoths so far, but he took the test. He captured several smaller towns in the area, defeating many monsters and found a cave of targets. However, the barbarian was unpleasantly surprised because he had to fight many wight and wraith before the behemoths. After defeating the undead, he finally fought the ancient monsters and exterminated the entire family. He passed the first test in less than three months. As a second test, he had to prove he could protect his people. He had to completely clear the area around a small town of monsters. With his three lieutenants, Gurnisson, Oris and Gird, he exterminated all monsters in the area in less than four months. The next test was to defeat the rivals. However, Kilgor had a harder task here because he had really dangerous enemies here. He had to win against three clans. This were the house of Telez, Degab and Vilmit. All three were led by a famous and legendary barbarian. The leader of the Telez House was Yog, the leader of the Degab House was Lord Jabarkas, and the leader of the Vilmit House was Crag Hack. There were several cruel and difficult battles, but in the end Kilgor defeated all his rivals. There was only one test left, and that was to defeat the king. Winston Boragus was his last opponent, but again appeared Crag Hack and two other Barbarians, Terek and Vey, but this time on the side of the king. Kilgor had three months to defeat the duke and gain the throne. However, Boragus tried to manipulate his opponent. Though a little respectful, he sent him mocking messages. However, Kilgor did not respect him at all and responded to the threats with a rough letter. After that, the count did not send any more letters. Both sides knew the stakes were huge now and they deployed everything. However, Boragus' followers fell and Kilgor killed him.
After the fight, he cut off the ogre's head and held it as a trophy and then captured the throne as the new king of Krewlod and the barbarians.
General Kendal's Diary[]
After rising to power and gaining the throne, Kilgor began his campaign for world domination after a year of preparation. Almost at the same time, the dragon queen of Nighon, Mutare, also launched her campaign for world domination.
On March 15, 1172, the barbarians launched an attack on Erathia and managed to capture the lands between Krewlod and Tatalia. Tatalia sent a diplomat, she was a well-known fire witch, Adrienne, who had saved countless lives, and she asked that Erathia and the mud landers put aside their past differences and unite against the bloodthirsty barbarian. General Kendall heard about Kilgor, his actions and his megalomaniac desires, he believed that a demon was a much nicer creature than the barbarian tyrant, whose name they began to mention with fear, so the general knew very well that this could destroy the molar, so as soon as possible they have to stop him. Two years of continuous bloodshed, but somewhat surprisingly, Erathia, which had much more territory, began to tire of the war and the people wanted peace.
On 12.18.1174, the legendary Gelu appeared, who led the Forest Guard and successfully repelled the attack of Kilgor's horde on the western rear of Erathia for a while, but the bloodthirsty tyrant achieved success in Tatalia, because he conquered the southern part of Hillbridge, Minewell and Avauntnell.
On 02.13.1175, Nicolas Gryphonheart's eldest son, Lysander successfully drove the barbarians out of Avautnell and reclaimed most of Minewell, these successes benefited the Erathian army's morale, the war progressed well, but not against Mutare.
On 07.17.1175, Mutare was dead and the army of Nighon collapsed, leaving the forces of Erathia to focus almost exclusively on Kilgor's barbarian hordes. Lysander achieved a great success, he recapturing most of the conquered territories, only some parts of Tatalia did not break through, Adriene and Gelu for some reason were unable to achieve a major victory.
On 10.22.1175, Lysander's attack also stalled, Kilgor, despite not being a native of the marshlands, fought surprisingly effectively and personally led his troops, and Kendall believed that when he was fighting, they needed four times as many troops against him. Adrienne helped the civilian population flee northwards from the devastating barbarian hordes. Bracada didn't want more war, but AvLee wanted revenge against Nighon, but they didn't really care about the barbarian threat.
On 06.12.1176 Lysander and his soldiers wiped out all the goblins in the swamp, but the large horde caused a massive destruction. Almost all of the Lizardmen, Basilisks, Dragon Flies, Wyverns and Mighty Gorgons were gone, most of the leaders of the mud landers were gone or disappeared, the king was dead, meaning that the kingdom of Tatalia had effectively ceased to exist, only a few hundred soldiers survived, and a significant part of the swamp was burned beyond recognition.
On 11.28.1176 Kilgor and his empire did not weaken, but became even stronger, his madness began to spread like a plague and seemed to be unstoppable, but at the same time a close alliance was formed against him.
On 01.17.1177 the situation grew worse as the barbarian tyrant launched a three-pronged attack. His hordes attacked Bracada, the southeastern border of Erathia, and he himself wanted to find and kill Gelu to obtain the Armageddon’s Blade.
Heroes Chronicles: The Sword of Frost[]
One day Gelu, the legendary and extremely talented half-Vori elf, half Erathian fighter, the leader of the Forest Guard, wanted to destroy a very strong artifacts, the Sword of Frost. He wanted to do this with the Armageddon's Blade. However, Tarnum, an immortal hero, heard that if the two swords clash then the world is over. Since neither Erathia nor AvLee wanted to go to war against Gelu, Tarnum decided to stop Gelu with the forces of Nighon. However, after the death of the dragon queen, Mutare, a civil war broke out between the overlords over who had the absolute power. Tarnum had the only opponent he had to defeat anyway, a notorious warlock, Jeddite. After defeating him and capturing his castle, he was able to show enough power for Nighon to finally side with him. He then sets out with his forces against the lands of Vori. He tried several times to settle this peacefully and also sent a message to Gelu explaining not to do what he wanted to do, but the elf was too proud and stubborn. Tarnum then captured three cities and a neutral one. However, he still could not find Gelu, who had left a fortified town behind him in the northern glaciers. Tarnum also received some very surprising news, his harpy spies saw barbarians in the area. These were the troops of the bloodthirsty tyrant, the brutal King Kilgor. Tarnum, however, did not want a conflict with them, he first wanted to find an ally in them. A week later, a barbarian warrior arrived at Tarnum's camp with a rather disrespectful and arrogant behavior. He said Kilgor's third wife, Kija, is the leader of the barbarian troops and is here to obtain the Sword of Frost. Tarnum then realized that the cruel king also knew about the artifact and wanted to get it for himself. He was horrified to think about what such a powerful artifact could do in the hands of a tyrant like Kilgor, and he knew that if he and Gelu fought each other, Enroth would be destroyed. However, the hero could not show any signs of weakness in front of the creatures of Nighon, so he broke the nose and arm of the barbarian and tell him that he did what he wanted, and ordered the warrior to disappear from the camp immediately.
Kija's response was clearly a message of war, but she had no idea that Tarnum knew the barbarians better than anyone.A few days later, after interrogating an orc prisoner, it became clear that Kija also had a personal purpose with the sword, namely to win the favor of Kilgor once and for all, and that her son would be the heir to the throne. Tarnum knew that bribery and extortion would not work for her, only the war will work agaist her. Tarnum did not know where Gelu was going because he had secrets from his own soldiers, but the war was successful. He defeated one of the leaders of the barbarians, Terek, and one of the leaders of the elves, Coronius. However, Tarnum lost Gelu and was worried about what would happen if he really found the Sword of Frost. After learning that more barbaric forces were standing in his way in the north, he decided to seek an ally to speed up the campaign. Tarnum has chosen to form an alliance with the proud but extremely strong azure dragons. He also managed to find out that one of Gelu's best friends was Lord Ufretin, a brave, stubborn dwarf. Tarnum didn't want to kill him, but he definitely wanted to catch him to get information about Gelu's plans. In the meantime, he has achieved further success. He victorious again over Kilgor's troops, their two heroes, Zubin and Krellion, were defeated and lost their castles and he acquired one of Gelu's secret, spare stock. Tarnum made an alliance with the azure dragons and set out with his armies to capture Ufretin. However, he with his army was marching too fast and Ufretin trapped him. The ambush inflicted heavy losses on Tarnum, but Ufretin gave him a chance to surrender. However, he made a big mistake with this decision because Tarnum did not surrender, but dig himself into the area and reorganized his forces.
A week later, Ufretin sent a message to Tarnum urging him to surrender, but he was wasting time because the hero refused this. However, when Tarnum's forces launched a counterattack, Ufretin did not attack. He did not engage in an open battle, even when his three castles were captured and some prisoners were tortured by the forces of Nighon. Both sides also had allies. On the side of Tarnum the azure dragons fought, and on the side of Ufretin the crystal dragons. However, the attack of the azure dragons swept away the defense and Ufretin was badly defeated in his castle. Ufretin told Tarnum useful information after about a month, namely that Gelu was looking for the ancient, forgotten city, Volee, and that the Sword of Frost was said to be there. The hero had to continue with the army of Nighon in the tunnels, inside of the great glaciers, but here he met Kilgor's minions and hordes. The barbarian army had several leaders, among them again Zubin, Gretchin, and the famous barbarian, Crag Hack. However, Kilgor's army was greatly defeated, Tarnum defeated all three and captured three barbarian castles. He then marched against Kija with all his forces. The barbarians retreated deep into the tunnels of the glaciers. Meanwhile, Tarnum had obtained information about the artifact that Gelu and Kilgor were looking for. It is said the Sword of Frost created the Glaciers around the ancient elf town of Vole and hundreds of elves disappeared after the weapon was created. Tarnum was very afraid that if this sword was so powerful, what would be capable of in the hands of Gelu or Kilgor. Two weeks later, Tarnum paid gold some barbarian deserters to give him information about Kija. They told him that she was a powerful warrior and battle mage, not as crazy as her husband but just as cruel and determined. They also said that she wanted to find an object, the Ring of Infinite Gems, which opens the passage to the City of Volee.
A week later, a goblin messenger arrived at the Tarnum camp, bringing an offer from Kija. The woman offered an alliance against the elves, and that the hero could keep everything to himself except the Sword. Tarnum, however, rejected the offer because he knew that if he accepted it, Kilgor would later take everything and want to enslave him anyway. He then set off against Kija and the barbarian army. He defeated Gurnisson, Kilgor's important lieutenant, and the woman, but did not kill her. He captured two castles and he found a magical three in front of the castle of Kija. It had a door on it that opened and Ufretin came out of the tree. He told Tarnum that Gelu considered them both traitors, but he stole the ring from him and handed it to the hero. Then Tarnum realized that there was only one thing left. Capture the city of Volee and defeat Gelu in battle if necessary. The barbarians no longer had any more mobilizable forces, so Kilgor and his third wife seemed to have failed. Kija was in prison for almost a month until she finally escaped. Tarnum underestimated her, thinking she no longer had an army so she going home to her husband. However, the hero was very wrong because he went to the city of Volee. The elves of the ancient city considered Tarnum and Gelu to be enemies at the same time, but did not expect anything else. Kija successfully entered the city in secret and stole the artifact. By the time Tarnum finally captured the city and defeated Gelu, he was shocked to see that the Sword was gone and had been in Kilgor's possession for a long time. Meanwhile, as during the Festival of Life, the king destroyed many farms and homes, causing a great famine in the territories of Krewlod.
The king then decided it was time to conquer new territories, but before that he would defeat his only enemy who posed a serious threat to him. In the final battle, Kilgor and Gelu fought each other. When their swords clashed, the energies of the artifacts relics were unleashed and a huge explosion happened, destroying the world of Enroth. Gelu and Kilgor died instantly along with their armies and millions were perished. However, many have successfully escaped into the world of Axeoth through magical portals.
Heroes of Might and Magic IV[]
There were barbarians in Axeoth who were similar to Kilgor, and some of them wanted to become like him. The best known of these were Cronx, Gurt, Joklut Jawbreaker, Oreha, Ungadin, and perhaps the two most infamous, Hundric and Vogel Backbreaker. At the same time, many hated him and eventually his followers and heirs were all defeated, thus destroying his legacy.
Personality[]
“ | They remind me of Kilgor. The last Barbarian King marched against the rest of the world as much for economic reasons as for his own megalomania. The Barbarian land of Krewlod had been on the verge of its greatest famine, and too many herds had been consumed by Kilgor's vast horde. Too many farms had been burned during Kilgor's campaign to become King. Thousands would've starved to death. Thousands more would've certainly succumbed to disease, but instead of disbanding his army Kilgor started a war - a war that brought about the end of the world! | „ |

“ | Kilgor is an abomination that needs to be destroyed. | „ |
~ General Kendal about Kilgor. |
Kilgor was a cruel, power-hungry, egocentric, tyrannical, bloodthirsty and brutal person. He loved war, power, conquering, and suffered a great megalomania. He alone had power, everyone else was a servant or tool to him. He used the first of his wives, Yutena, as a sparring partner, who suffered several scars during the fighting with the king. He paid only serious attention to the war and the strengthening of his economic power, not interested in the suffering of his people. Before the Reckoning, he was completely overcome by his madness, insanity and the desire to kill, and before the final confrontation, many people died because of him and his wars, certain species were even extinct. His personality was very divisive, he was highly revered by many, especially many barbarians, but was considered by many to be a mad, cruel butcher.

Kilgor had brutal physical strength. He was a very muscular, strong, persistent man, he could easily hunt down even behemoths. He was also able to use magic, was an excellent strategist and a violent, determined and courageous leader.
