The story of Killer Croc from DC Comics.
Biography[]
Pre/Post-Crisis[]
In the original comics, Waylon Jones was simply a man with a disfiguring mutation who eventually turned to crime rather than live his whole life as a circus sideshow attraction.
Eventually, he came up against Batman, who enlisted the aid of the trapeze family, The Flying Todds. Sadly, Croc murdered all of them except for son Jason Todd, who joined Batman in bringing Croc down.
This directly led to Jason becoming the second Robin, now that Dick Grayson had taken on the identity of Nightwing. Later on, in an effort to differentiate Jason's origin from Grayson's, this story was discarded, and following the Crisis on Infinite Earths, Croc no longer played a role in Jason's origin as Robin.
Later stories, owing to a mix of natural threat escalation for a minor foe as well as confusion about Croc's condition, made him more and more reptilian in mind and body. An encounter with the potions of Posion Ivy during Batman's initial confrontation with Hush left him in an almost kaiju-like state.
The Beast Beneath[]
Killer Croc, who has mutated lizard monster and as a result, he is becoming more feral and worse, he takes up eating every living creature he finds, to fill his stomach as a beast more than a man.
Croc remembers that it all started when Hush and Riddler injected the mutagenic virus on him and he became a monster. After he was captured by the Government, they found a cure for him and reverted the mutation. Once again, he was "normal" until he was captured by Black Mask and he had Mad Hatter implant a chip on Croc's brain, which caused him to mutate once again. Black Mask used Croc as a puppet and sent him to attack the Hill, a place protected by Onyx and Catwoman. After this, Croc tried to get revenge on Mad Hatter, but Batman prevented it and told Croc that the mutation was out of control.
Croc decides to look for the doctor who cured him previously and he goes straight to Wayne Tech. However, on his way there, he is attacked by members of the False Face Society, but he slaughters them with no effort. Croc breaks into Wayne Tech and a security guard tries to shoot him, but Croc's skin has become thicker, and bullets don't harm him anymore. Croc asks the guard for Doctor Maria Belleza, and the guard takes him to her office. After getting her scent from her chair, Croc leaves the place, sparing the guard's life.
Croc found Maria Belleza, the doctor who cured him once from the Hush virus and reverted his mutation. Croc is mutating again and finds it harder to control himself as he used to do in the past. He almost strangles the doctor to get her to cure him, but she told him to let her go so she can work on his cure. As Maria injects Croc with a special serum on his tongue and Croc finds it really hard to keep control and not bite her hand off, but in the end, he manages to succeed.
Maria starts working on the cure, she asks Croc about his life and his illness. Croc tells her that he was born with that condition, killing his own mother at birth. After this, he was sent to Florida with an aunt that didn't care for him but for the money that the government gave her for taking him. Childhood was hard as every kid mocked Croc and feared him as they grew up. Croc became an outlaw and spent some time in prison and after going out he became an alligator fighter, but it didn't last long. He decided to move to Gotham and try to conquer the underworld, but his plans were thwarted time and again by Batman and all his allies. Croc recalls that the mutation was constantly happening to his body, but that he would never lose control over his actions, until Hush injected him with his virus and the mutation worsened, which is causing him troubles controlling his animal instincts.
After several hours of intense work, Maria finally manages to develop a cure to reverse the mutation caused by the Hush virus and injects the serum to Croc. A few minutes later Maria gives a mirror to Killer Croc's human-like body while shed tear of joy and Maria tells him that despite the appearances, he is still a man that deserves love and respect. They approach each other and the situation gets romantic for a moment until Croc starts mutating again and his body returns to the lizard-like form Croc to begs her to fix it again.
Maria gets back to work on a cure, hours pass, and she is not able to find the answer. Finally, she admits that she won't be able to find a cure as the virus mutates too quickly. Croc's basic instincts overcome his control and due to his hunger, he devours Maria and feels regretful at the same time.
Croc leaves the place less hungry and completely sorrowful. As he walks through the sewers, he is determined to make the people responsible for his condition, including Hush, Black Mask, Riddler and Batman, pay for all they've done to him.
New 52[]
In Prime Earth a kinder version of Croc. In same Waylon Jones was born with a rare condition that gave him scaly skin. He scrubbed daily to try and get the scales off to try and be normal. But he decided to give up because of the pain it gave him when he descaled himself. He grew up to become the Killer Croc and worked for the Gotham Circus. He was paid to wrestle crocodiles, but he's boss kept most of the money. Furious by his boss's foolish choice, Killer Croc bit his arm off.
After being apprehended by the GCPD, he listens to two police officers' joke about him. Saying he should stop while he's ahead and to get henchmen. Killer Croc took this to heart. He stopped being the muscle headed brute and become more of a thinker. He gathered "henchmen" who are really just homeless people that worship Croc for taking them in.
Croc now rules all of the sewers in Gotham with his own personal army.
DC Rebirth[]
In DC's 2016 relaunch of its books DC Rebirth, Killer Croc appears as one of the many villains attempting to kill Batman to stop Two-Face from leaking secret information. He attacks Batman on a train alongside Amygdala and King Shark. In the pages of Suicide Squad, Killer Croc and the Squad go on a mission to retrieve a "cosmic item" from a Russian undersea prison.
Waylon Jones and June Moone together.
Revealed to be a portal to the Phantom Zone and the Squad comes face-to-face with General Zod. He attacks the Squad and, when spotting Zod about to kill June Moone/Enchantress, Croc saves her just in time. After the mission, back in their cells June Moone and Croc have a heartfelt conversation and embrace each other. Croc and June Moone go on a date around New York City to develop their relationship, which Waller can later exploit in the future.
Croc sees June having issues regarding her freelance work and incentivizes her to apply for work which June breaks down in tears due to the fact that no one would trust a convict who can turn into a witch at a moment's notice. June then turns to Croc asking him who would trust her to which Croc reply "Me" and both of them embrace. While June goes to find freelance work, Croc is in a sewer wishing her that she would succeed, but later expresses fear and shed a tear that he will lose her if she is able to achieve her dream. Enchantress rampages in New York City due to rejections after rejections until it is revealed that it is an editor from a magazine company who rejected June. After being convinced by Croc to reevaluate her, he decided to give her some freelance work. Moved by Waylon's actions, June reigns in the Enchantress and thanks his love for helping her.
In Shock and Awe, the government has gotten orders bring every prisoner to transfer them to a new prison. June Moone is forcibly separated from her lover just before Killer Croc springs into action to save her until Katana warns him to keep moving. Not long after, Rick Flag brings back the Squad to Washington DC to stop The Wall.
When Enchantress sees her love is injured, she teleports possessed people to an unknown location. After that, she tells him that she will always love him. With the Wall arriving, he told how to kill the Squad by using the dimensional portal from the file that he stole. Enchantress gets pulled down by large hands who later reverts back to June, who desperately begs Waylon to save her before being completely pulled down to hell, Croc watches in horror and immediately lunges at the Wall in retaliation. He gets shot multiple times yet that does not break his resolve and continues to throw punches after punches at the Wall angrily, severely injuring him until the Wall gains the upper hand by shooting Croc with his cannon, detrimentally wounding Croc.

The Wall escape the battle after downloading the file, released the possessed people. Croc sits in silent, staring at the place where June was pulled down to. Harley checks if he is alright, to which he utters "no magic". Two days later back in Belle Reve, Killer Croc, in his cell, mourns and breaks down in tears over the loss of June Moone as Rick told Waller that June Moone is the only one who did not see him as monstrous.
Gotham City Monsters[]
Killer Croc, now discharged from the Suicide Squad, is seen trying to find a job in Monstertown. Croc’s hotel receptionist, Tusk, offers him free tickets to the opera which he swiftly declines. In a hotel room Croc grabs an unknown picture frame (possibly June Moone meaning he really misses her not knowing she is still alive and just came out of Hell).
Killer Croc's primary concern at been finding a job ends in failure as he anguishes over the multiple failures in finding an honest job. As his anger builds, Frankenstein enters with Orca and Lady Clay in tow. Croc lunges at him, but he eventually calms down as realizes Frankenstein isn’t his enemy. Croc is told of the fate of his friend, Tusk, who was also in attendance at the theater. He agrees to join the team for one last muscle job to avenge his friend’s death.
Killer Croc finally at peace.
As the battle against Melmoth and his twisted army resumes in earnest, the proceedings have quietly been observed by Croc, lurking within the swamp's waters. While the team is successful in rescuing Melmoth's latest set of intended victims, Killer Croc grabs Melmoth's cursed blade, cutting his hand and inadvertently making himself a brainwashed agent of the conjurer's and stabs Frankenstein in back, but this is revealed to be a trick and Killer Croc plays a big role in Melmoth's defeat, being the first to strike him in the final battle.
Killer Croc, now just going by Waylon has taken over Tusk's hotel in Monster Town, grants second chances to any monster in need.
Joker War[]
Between in the Joker War tie-in event, Croc hotel has been destroyed by Joker's group. He has had enough and decided to have Monster Town underground. Croc has gone down into the sewers so that he can stay away from Joker’s shenanigans.
He isn’t alone as a group of mutated people joined him and acknowledges him as their leader after he had saved each of their lives form Joker's toxic waste. He also explained how he wants to bring others down to the sewers for protection from the war above. Batman attempts to warn Croc of the dangers of the chemicals in the water, but, unfortunately, Croc doesn’t believe him. He orders his team to kill Batman. Croc tells them to stop as he waits for Batman to come up for air. Batman proposes a deal: If he wins, he can take everyone in, but if he loses, he leaves with the kidnapped individuals. Croc takes the deal and fights.
At Arkham Asylum, Batman is getting Croc and his gang settled in their cells. He promises them the best of care, including a reversal of their conditions, if a cure can be found. Before leaving, he goes to sit with Croc. He thanks him for honoring the deal. As they shake hands one last time, Batman addresses Croc by his real name Waylon and thanks Batman call him a real name.
Red Hood[]
After event of Joker war, Croc is forced back into the life of crimes and must be once again, a muscle for hire. Thomas Misell released him in Arkham asked him to be his muscle and teach them how it is done, and Croc accepts the offer with merch and suit. Killer Croc and Tommy's ex-partner are laid out just for things to move on in an attempt to reveal Strike's identity. Waylon in car talking on the phone for a moment before Redhood asks him to step out and talk. Croc strikes a conversation with Redhood and expresses his surprise at Redwood working the Hill and that he expects Strike and her crew to follow him here. Redhood asks him what Croc's job is nowadays, to which Waylon responds by being "the other decoy". At the trade deal, Waylon receives his money while he in return, sells the weapons stashed at the back of the car, and Croc leaves subsequently.
Infinite Frontier[]
Batman: Killing Time[]
Croc tries to work a relationship with a woman named Vera Angleton try to kiss her, but she couldn't do it that is will not work because he tries find to work thing out by stealing lot of money. his look Killer Croc enters the First National Bank of Gotham City in while in his disguise as a security guard watches him closely. Croc is next in line bank employment need help today Waylon ask him to need all money you had in bank employment as him repeat Waylon tell him again while breaking the window then grabbing bank employment, give all money then alarm sound goes on. Croc start digging for the money the security guard to still stand unfortunately Croc slam him in the impact the wall. Batman arrives in the bank found guard dead he is hiding use voice in disusing to lure him in and it work. Croc start fighting Batman for time hear about him how big bad Bat is after few around he punches him out.
Leatherr Bound[]
Batman and Commissioner at a crime scene, the pair gaze at the corpse of a komodo dragon. They next find the corpse of a crocodile, and Batman muses that Killer Croc would not be pleased with the carnage.
Batman heads into the sewers, finds Croc, and confirms that he is not responsible for the slaughter and wants to find the person who is. Batman asks for a twelve-hour period to find the culprit. At the Batcave, Batman learns that Killer Croc has gone back on his word and is holding people hostage at the Gotham Zoo. He breaks in fight give enough hostage to escape Croc fighting Batman nearly about to kill him until he was knock with gas, and finds the herpetologist on duty, Dr. Meyers Croc awake he esapce thought the underground.
When Batman find name Lars Lars reveals that he committed his crimes to attract Croc's attention. Killer Croc appears, bent on revenge, and Batman intercedes. He attempts to help Lars, who is in the Gotham River, but some of Killer Croc’s reptile friends have other ideas. Lars ends up in the hospital with only one intact limb and Croc taken away in Arkham.
Superman Punch[]
Killer Croc attack Batwing in swear by biting him in left armor the pound him and slam him into wall. Batwaing thinks Croc been working with Riddler, but he wants to be alone waylon did his time with Suicide Squad and every time he try get away so can't involve try dragging him back then decided to take them out instead. Croc fight Batwing punching and kicking him, but Batwing use a slash and stab him back he just wanted to talk. Waylon refused to listen Batwing know his angry and don't konw how to handle it only way clam him down by Superman Punch break few his teeth. After Croc finally clam down explain to Batwing, he never working with Riddler being with the glad to take where he at. But Batwing got idea to get even he give Croc a head starts to chase Riddler until GCPD arrive he agree start chasing Riddler then tell Waylon to stop it then ask him "you're my get outta Jail free card."
Fear State[]
In the Fear State tie- in event Croc along with Firefly, Knockout and Cheshire bring by Clayface potential allies seeking a second chance bring them together to defend the Allytown. Basil, Waylon, and Selena arrive at Gotham city Docks when will goes as plan but suddenly they caught bomb blast. Clayface and Killer Croc attack Valley, giving Selina a chance to escape into the water, as the Magistrate Croc Tell Basil to retreat and before that Valley blows Clayface up with a grenade. Eventually they have successful and begin to repair the damage.
Batman: Legends of Gotham[]
Red Hood on mission to tracking down Bane until Croc spotted him and goes after him for blew up his operation even cost him millions fighting goes on Jason shoot at him but didn't affect him due his hide until they break up the fight Jason bot on the list Croc decided to settle this another day, he is taking with him and later encounter Bane if looking for fight.
Gotham sewer Croc asking Jason if got him he got charged of heart talk him down by Katana, he gives him a French book while they are chatting.
Dawn of DC[]
Waylon found butch of dead rats something going on when get attacked by "Joker" strangle by plastic bag Croc get off him goes after him. He is tracking him down hear a laughing he closer he goes for kill but not Joker a man tied up bare wire begging Croc for help before saved the man sniffing out a gas then match toss burning man alive while driving water by trap by bare wire Joker come out, he bites him on left arm.
Croc continue search see blood water he finds him before killing him Joker give a joke and work Croc laughing along other Joker laugh, he knows sound like real Joker and give him that nobody like him thus he goes for kill and Joker use electric on water Shocking Croc as he passes out.
Batman and Robin (2023)[]
Croc along with Man-bat, Orca and Terrible Trio kidnapped the doctor bring him to Gotham Zoo they encounter Batman and Robin they escape while bats go after Batman. They succeeded taking the Doctor he decided to quit he know only matter in time he got business to attend by checking Poison ivy.
Poison Ivy[]
After left the group Croc returned to see Ivy noticed that she not knowing something wrong he started search for her. He checked to top to bottom even the sewer when suddenly he found an abandoned building, he eventually found her trying to get out the building they encounter flower person like he put hand on Croc acid like stung him. Building started to collapse Ivy trying to bring him out but wanted to start so Croc and Ivy escape from building and they are heading home.
Ivy looking for cure she works a Croc house then he smells thinking she cooking Barbecue explain to him she is working on cure on toxic mushroom he did mushroom she check on in spore in his body nothing happens that because he immune to Lamia mushroom since crocodile natural immunity. Ivy wants his blood, but he stared freak out the needle reason why because he scared of the needle since was the kid the doctor can't though his skin armor never goes a doctor again. zombie like found Ivy Croc goes to defense her then Solomon Grundy arrives he grabs Ivy neck Croc reuse her those fighting until Ivy stop them, they are even bigger problem deal with.
They continue to fight zombies like until done. Even just three of them Croc know can't hold off after wave he assist with Ivy antidote for many days. Waylon check Ivy if going well even ask her to get some rest for exhausted when suddenly they hear something it none other Janet. Janet screaming see Solomon Grudy and Killer Croc Ivy try calm her down this her friends Croc be friendly only freak her out. She came here bring item even a donut that hear word Croc if one Janet can have given to him eat one if another one Grundy, she called by Ivy she more donuts later.
She working to prevent planet zombie's apocalypse when Ivy gets painful Janet call Croc what happened Ivy collapsed in pain, she tried to tell them something breaking loose but can't speak she screams in pain blood coming out in her body. Croc and Janet helping Ivy from stooping the Bleeding then suddenly there a noise coming Floronic Man arrive Waylon come to defend Janet and Ivy.
Floronic Man arrive at Croc house get Poison Ivy her power He believe that Floonic man thought he died Ivy tell everyone get inside because it will too danger for him Floronic Man taking Janet as hostage Croc demand him to let her go she innocent even caught him attention since have moral conscience he threw Janet from HR she was saved by Solomony Grundy then they head back in house and lock the door. Croc checking the window if Ivy fighting Floronic Man then suddenly zombie-like creature breaking the window rip out it arm toss out the window then more show up Waylon he asks Grundy for help then cover. Janet from HR ask him it will be alright he tell her we oaky they lower like themselves always in the end sound wired but she believes his word hearing Ivy yell Janet from HR rush in front door While Croc tell her it too danger goes outside.
Janet wants to rescue Ivy only door blocked by Croc it to dangerous goes outside many plant zombies breaking the door. Harley Quinn is here to save her lover and friends Janet shouting Harley need help but have wait after saved Ivy she doesn't know why didn't help Croc step in telling Janet -From-HR honest they not heroes but protected they care who closest friends and love see Grundry in trouble Croc come to assist him while Janet knows it already. They about rescue Ivy they encounter man flower head he knows that man about weeks ago he came here to assist them against Flonic Man they are fighting though they way Croc found and rescue her, but she didn't want to be saved need to stop him by killing herself. After Harley Brunning Woodrue Ivy about finished the job Croc try need to rest unfortunately deed is done Jason Woodrue is dead and so does Ivy.
Croc, Solomony and Janet shocking see Ivy dead Grudry Carrie her body into deep swamp to revived her. He chree up Harley when herself if does right thing even cost her lover Croc tell not to give up. Then suddenly something happened all swamp come full of life Croc point out someone in the water only is Ivy. With Ivy came back to life everything back to normal Croc need rest all this even let Grudry stay his house for a while.
Titans Beast[]
Gotham City run full of Beast people Croc tries to defend the city he attacked one of them he got it until spore in his mouth turned into every more crocodile beast. Nightwing spotted Croc seen he one of them he attacked Nightwing can' t reason with him due to Beast boy spore when suddenly Wolf Batman save Nightwing and together they take him down.
Red Hood: The Hill[]
Demetrius Korlee, Jr had major Problem deal with the Red Hood and The Hill Watch Group so went house apartment luxury who know Red Hood Killer Croc. Demetrius Korlee brings the photo showing him they need eliminate but Croc know Red Hood better then him but need hiring special player the name Kreckk. Croc explain to them his real name Leonard H Kreckk but everyone calls him Kreckk he different person since Arkham something happen to him after event by someone discovered if someone give Lenny a target his project problem solve permanently. He asks Demetrius Korlee if he known Tony Flats something them phone recorder, He give him card number then they leave.

Janet from HR call Killer Croc for help to prove Ivy innocent since Green Order of the Green Knight fame her didn't come it. Janet was move in abandonment town since they have lay low Croc ask her if she was scarred old building then him Croc own his way. Janet is waiting him for hour accident jump scare her he and Janet in sewer Walyon discover a fresh pipe and wall say "we tried". Croc believe some prank some kids playing around Janet thank Croc for being here for her losing her mind and after she kiss him.
