Biography[]
History[]
Kim Brody (which was a fake name) had a relationship with Robert Sinclair, a career criminal, and eventually broke him out of prison with the alias of Claire Tomalin. She then escaped and changed her indetity to Kim Brody. She worked with Dennis Langdon/Phil Newsom to work scams where they would get people to sell off their houses. To get money, she and Sinclair robbed mob boss Nicky Fontane’s bar.
L&O[]
After committing the heist, Brody murders Donna and Melinda by running them over. Detectives Green and Lupo talk to Jerry Conway about his missing 10000 dollars and he tells them about a house they partially paid for. They talk to Brody and mention selling houses for Landon and that he was a con man. Green and Lupo then go to cigar club after linking Landon to Nicky and Phil. Lupo and A.D.A. Connie Rubiros go undercover as a couple to sell their house and bust Landon. Brody lies that Landon escaped and moments later, detectives are notified about a mass murder of 6 people. They discover kiss marks on Sinclair, her dead accomplice, and go to her house to arrest her. Brody pleads not guilty and the judge puts her in protective custody. The find out about her other alias and try to compare the appearances. The second judge denies the witness protection warrant at first but then lets it back in for 48 hours. Connie finds mismatching socks on her attorney, Peter Berbatov, and spies on him before checking a bag full of money and bringing him to the precinct.
Berbatov makes a deal to call Brody but she suspects something is going on and lies to FBI agents that she knows about a terrorist cell. Assistant U.S. attorney named Richard Cassidy defends Brody and she is remanded to the U.S. Marshal. To catch Brody, Jack McCoy signs a warrant to arrest the two FBI agents who brought in Brody for kidnapping. In exchange for the agents release, they get Brody. Her fingers also turn out to be a four point match to Kim, so Michael Cutter talks to the grand jury to convince them.
A master manipulator, Brody tells the court room that she was kidnapped by Sinclair and forced to commit the murders. She lies that he used her sexually and then lies again by saying Cassidy pressured her into sex and used the money to “run away”. Despite the overwhelming evidence, Brody is not prosecuted but put into witness protection. While entering the car, Connie and Cutter find out that Sinclair died a year ago and Kim was an orphan and house wife living in Korea. In the end, Brody gets off without consequence — free to con people again.
