Biography[]
She makes her first appearance after Conan and his friends went to the house that he mysterious Hobo (who was later revealed to be Tatsuo Hayase) drew on his sketch book, where they see a cleaning crew cleaning her entire house, where she opened the door and mistook the kids as the crew and invited them inside.
She then gave them cookies and juice as she left to the kitchen, where Conan and the others notice that the inside doesn't look like what it did in the sketchbook, where she revealed that she threw out her old furniture and got new ones, with a painting that she vealed it to be gotten a couple of days again. The kids notice a picture of what looked like the dead hobo, who she claimed to be her late husband, who died a year ago and that the Hobo and the Husband are not the same.
She later appeared again, via flashback where Conan had her view the dead hobo's body, confirming if it's her husband or not, which she claims it's not, even telling they look like, followed but her rude remark of telling Wataru Takagi to put out his cigarette, as she revealed that she hate smoking, followed by opening a window. When asked if her husband did some painting, which she said he did but threw them out because the Media and society started to condemn her for what he did. Later when Conan and the gang returned to her house, Conan found a few pieces of evidence, which proves that not only was the Hobo her late husband but that she killed him.
Using his bowtie, Conan and Kogoro and Megure to come to Kimie home, where both are confused as they claimed that the other was the one who called them about new evidence found, but before they figured it out, Conan knocked Kogoro and using his bowtie, revealed that the Hobo was not only Tatsuo Hayase that Kimie was the killer. However, Kimie laugh as this accusation, and asking if there was proof if he was alive and even stating that she takes Kogoro to court for false claims, but Conan found a few pieces of evidence to prove that he was here and she killed him...
The first was that a burn mark on the cabinet in the living room, where earlier she claimed to hate smoking, and that her Husband had a cigarette in his mouth, where upon opening the backdoor, he put it out on the cabinet, which she didn't notice.
The second was that a Ginkgo leaf flew into the living room, without her knowing, where it got stuck on his foot when she walked in the path, which explain the one leaf found in his shoes when he was found dead.
While she still denied the claim of her killing her husband with no proof, the third and finale evidence was discovered when Conan had Ran look at the painting she bought and asked her to grab the painting like he would when they saw him in the beginning as he was seen holding a painting, with his thumbs pressed on the painting, where is shown to be the third evidence; that his fingerprints are on the painting, the one that she bought two days ago.
Conan then pointed out that she hired a cleaning crew, but they would never clean a painting. With the proof now finally shown, Kimie then concede and revealed that she did kill her husband, first by drugging his coffee and then strangle him and explains why she killed him (exposing her as a villain and the whole story)
It turns out that Tastsou was the prime suspect under investigation for embezzlement for the bank he worked, and to save himself, he went up to the snowy mountain when he went out to sketch pictures, only to have been killed in an avalanche, but was not declared dead yet as a body was never found. When he did return, she realizes that if was discovered to be alive, that the embezzle money he stole would be taken away, as she claimed that money was hers and no one else. She was last seen taken away for her crime.
