Kinessa, also known by her title The Bounty Hunter, is a playable antagonist in Paladins. Once a recruit in the elite Sentinels, Kinessa eventually left after growing frustrated, instead deciding bounty hunting was more proactive.
She's a Damage champion that was introduced on March 3rd, 2016.
She is voiced by Martha Harms.

"As a young recruit in the elite Sentinels, Kinessa took to her sniper lessons with an eagerness and enthusiasm that surprised her mentors. Frustrated by the rigors of military life, she left before she could complete her training and struck out on her own.
As the Realm descended into chaos and war, vigilante bounty contracts have been plentiful, earning her all the fame and fortune she'd lacked while in the service of the Magistrate. She still refuses to pick a side in the conflict, however, because there's much more money to be made by playing both sides than by contracting with either."
Biography[]
Once a young recruit in the elite Magistrate unit known as the Sentinels, Kinessa's eagerness was enough to surprise her mentors such as Strix. However, this soon changed, as Kinessa grew frustrated with the rigors of military life, and also thought it overall more lucrative to simply be a mercenary for hire, leading to her leaving her training early and accepting many vigilante contracts, which there was no shortage of as the Realm fell into the Crystal War.
At some point during her vigilante business, she appears to have had some sort of encounter with Skye.
Personality[]
Kinessa largely focuses on her contract work, which she seems to take a light form of sadistic pleasure in by poking fun at her targets in some form.
She also appears to view herself rather fondly, swearing she'll remember the person who killed her, or insisting they only got her with a lucky shot.
Powers and Abilities[]
Kinessa is a skilled sniper, being considering good enough to be recruited into the elite military unit of the Sentinels, on top of receiving further military training from other skilled sharpshooters such as Strix. While her ego may be a bit large, her skill with the rifle and delivering on bounties, she's someone you should hope isn't contracted against you.
Gameplay[]
Sniper Rifle[]
- A combination sniper rifle and carbine for both long-range and short-range engagements. Your carbine deals 180 damage every 0.15 seconds.
- Has a base ammo count of 24.
Sniper Mode[]
- Scope up to charge your sniper rifle for increased damage, dealing up to 1200 damage after 1.3 seconds.
- Deals less damage if fired before 1.3 seconds.
- Lowers Kinessa's movement speed by 60% when active.
- Uses Sniper Rifle ammo, but uses 4 ammo per shot instead of 1.
Oppressor Mines[]
- Throw out a mine that deals 25 damage every 0.2s to any enemy that comes in range.
- Maximum of 2 mines can be active at once.
- Mines have 200 health.
- 10 second base cooldown.
Transporter[]
- Throw out a teleporter that transports you to its location.
- 1.1 second wind up.
- Can be interrupted by hard Crowd Control
- 10 second base cooldown.
Ultimate: Headhunter[]
- Channel your inner focus to gain 50% additional damage against enemies' vital locations.
- Ammo is not consumed while active.
- Sniper Mode shots charge 50% faster.
- Restores 5 ammo when activated.
- Lasts 5 seconds.
Talents[]
As with every other champion in Paladins, Kinessa has a number of different talents and cards which can be used to somewhat alter the way her abilities function. Cards can be upgraded with a limited pool of fifteen points per load-out in order to increase their effectiveness. Numbers in curly brackets are the default values and can be upgraded a total of five times, each upgrade adding another instance of the base value to overall effectiveness.
Steady Aim[]
- For 4 seconds after hitting a fully-charged weapon shot, your next fully-charged shot will deal an additional 20% damage.
- Default talent.
Reposition[]
- Using Transporter instantly Teleports you to its target location.
- Unlocked at Mastery Level 2.
Eagle Eye[]
- Increase the damage done by Headshots by an additional 25% of base for a total of 175% damage.
- Unlocked at Mastery Level 8.
Cards[]
- Amplitude - Increase the range of Oppressor Mines beams by {20|20}%.
- Beam Me Up - Increases the Flight Speed of Transporter by {10|10}%.
- Bob and Weave - Increase your Movement Speed by {27|27}% for 2s after Teleporting with Transporter.
- Calibrate - Hitting an enemy with your Sniper Rifle in Carbine lowers the Cooldown of Transporter by {0.15|0.15}s.
- Generator - Reduce the Cooldown of Oppressor Mine by {1.5|1.5}s.
- Headstrong - Increase your maximum Health by {50|50}.
- Lie in Wait - After 1s of standing still, regenerate {1|1} Ammo every 2s.
- Octoppressor - Increase the number of targets affected by Oppressor Mines by {1|1}.
- Open Season - Hitting an enemy with a fully-charged Sniper Mode shot generates {1|1} Ammo.
- Power Supply - Reset the Cooldown of Transporter after dropping to or below {12|12}% Health.
- Prodigy - Increase your Movement Speed while in Sniper Mode by {25|25}%.
- Quick Scope - Reduce scope-in and scope-out time by {20|20}%.
- Reconfigure - Activating Transporter generates {4|4} Ammo.
- Restore - Heal for 25% of your maximum Health after Teleporting with Transporter. Can activate every {30|-5}s.
- True Grit - Hitting an enemy with a fully-charged Sniper Mode shot Heals you for {50|50}.
- Well Stocked - Activating Oppressor Mine generates {3|3} Ammo.
