Hi. This is Thesecret1070. I am an admin of this site. Edit as much as you wish, but one little thing... If you are going to edit a lot, then make yourself a user and login. Other than that, enjoy Villains Wiki!!!
King Charlton is the main antagonist of the two=part My Little Pony episode "Baby, It's Cold Outside".
Although he started off as a dark and evil tyrant with ambitions to rule the world and exterminate those who can't withstand cold like penguins can, he would later redeem himself due to his love for his son.
He was presumably voiced by (though uncredited) the late Jerry Orbach, who also played Sa'Luk in Disney's Aladdin and the King of Thieves.
When first introduced, King Charlton is quick to show himself as heartless, to the point of stating that he wished for all non-penguin species to be eradicated as he used his magical stare to freeze the surrounding Ponyland, with aims of spreading his influence across the entire world.
Despite King Charlton's seemingly evil mindset, his young son was quick to try and reason with his father, alongside his friend (who was a duck and thought of as "weak" by King Charlton). Sadly the attempts to reason failed and King Charlton froze his son's friend in ice as a show of power.
Due to this, his son would aid the ponies after they were captured by King Charlton's guards and tried to help them stand up to him, only to be frozen himself. However, after freezing his own son, King Charlton slowly begins to realize the errors of his ways (aided by a song entitled "How Can You Be So Cold?" sung by Megan and the ponies). He shows remorse and, despite stating that the freezing cannot be reversed, manages to revive his son. After this, he gives up on his evil scheme in order to be a better father (and by extension a better ruler).
Powers and Abilities[]
Charlatan could shoot eye-beams which froze whatever they touched. Combined this with the magnifier, he could freeze over entire countries in matters of hours.
