Edmaris Falmuth is a major antagonist of the anime and manga series That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. He is the former ruler of the kingdom of his name, the Kingdom of Falmuth.
He is voiced by Hiroshi Yanaka in Japanese and by Bill Fynn in English.
Personality[]
Edmaris is a ruler who is led to strong inclination towards accumulating wealth and resources for his country, which may lead some to perceive him as a greedy individual. However, his behavior does not reach the level of greed for wealth. Despite these tendencies, the king is not a mindless ruler. That is as long he is informed with correct details; he can display his capability to make informed decisions and actions.
Edmaris is also a complete coward as the very second Rimuru was slaughtering his army he immediately cowered in his tent and tried to think of a way to get back to his kingdom not caring if his knights were dying as long as he gets out alive. Despite his character's negative treats, he truly cares for the people of his kingdom.
Biography[]
The Kingdom of Falmuth
During Rimuru and Mjöllmile's conversation, the Kingdom of Falmuth was mentioned about how it might pose a threat to Rimuru's kingdom. Edmaris than makes his first appearance where he is seen having a meeting among the other important occupants of the Falmuth Kingdom. A meeting that is about the event that had happened with the orc battle and Youm Farmena. Which soon after brings up to Rimuru's nation that can greatly affect their financial support of their own nation since all countries like Blumund wanted to market with the Dwargon Kingdom must first cross Kingdom of Falmuth and since Jura Tempest provide a much better and safety route to dwargon. They discuss to start a plan to act against Jura Tempest to prevent what they think might lead to the bankruptcy of falmuth. All advisor of Edmaris share their concern that if they declare the war against Jura Tempest they maybe start a war against not only jura but with his two country allied Blumund and Dwargon the latter being and important commercial partner. Archbishop Reyheim, says that Jura Tempest Federation is a clear opposition against God which led the king to decide to plan for a further plan to conquer jura tempest. In doing so, court Wizard Razen who was also in the meeting suggests to send some of their otherworlders that had been summoned within their kingdom to Jura Tempest disguises as merchants and start a rampage in the city of rimuru . Days later, the otherworlder, Shogo Taguchi, Kirara Mizutani, and Kyoya Tachibana had caused a very great amount of chaos as the King of Famulth exactly wanted to. However, the situation quickly in a horrible turn for the otherworlders who are murdered, each with by a different person. This also goes on for the immense amount of 20,000 amount of soldiers from the Falmuth Kingdom who were all massacred by Rimuru as a revenge.
Edmaris regretting his decision
King Falmuth is frighetened and deeply regrets for his decision on messing with Rimuru's nation. Alongside the last surviving of his Courtmage Razen, and his Archbishop Reyhiem, they attempted to leave the place but is confronted by Rimuru. The king beg for his life to be spared and lies to him that they were only trying to form an alliance with his kingdom which is an obvious lie that Rimuru deflected. Having nearly been killed, they are for Shion to take care of them for further interrogation for their decisions.
