What is the point of being a ruler if people are not following your rules? This is like King Shit 101!
~ King James.
Excellent.
~ King James' catchphrase.

King James is the overarching antagonist of the 2021 animated film America: The Motion Picture. He is the powerful king of Britain who convinced Benedict Arnold to join his side to dominate America completely.

He was voiced by Simon Pegg, who also played The Editor in Doctor Who, William Burke in Burke & Hare, Dengar in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Candace's C.O. in Phineas & Ferb: Star Wars, Unkar Plutt in Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, SkekSil in The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance and The Entity in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.

Biography[]

King James is introduced when he arrives at America. Benedict Arnold welcomes him, and says it's his "new world", but James is told by him that it smells horrible, but he tells him that George Washington isn't following the rules, much to the former's displeasure and anger. King James commands Arnold to kill George Washington, and Arnold says that he'll enjoy it and takes some of James' army with him to kill George.

James is later seen in the obelisk, having his hat and wig being placed on his fully exposed brain. Arnold tells him that he didn't kill Washington, because it could lead to their advantage. James is confused by this decision, but Benedict tells him that his plan should go faster. James sends in the head engineer, and tells him that the doomsday machine needs to be fully operational sooner than he thought, thanks to Benedict's suggestion. He says it should be prepared in 3 weeks time, but that wasn't fast enough for him, so he sends out his pet football Manchester to kill the head engineer. Then James tells Arnold that regardless he succeeds with his plan, George won't see the doomsday machine coming, foreshadowing his death.
