King Jikochuu, also known as the Selfish King or King Mercenare, is the main antagonist of the anime series Doki Doki! Pretty Cure. He is the leader and creator of the Jikochuu Generals and the Jikochuu, as well as being responsible for the destruction of the Trump Kingdom. In truth, he is Marie Ange's father, King Trump, who was possessed by Proto Jikochuu and became a demonic warlord.
He was voiced by Hōchū Ōtsuka in the Japanese version and by Patrick Seitz in the English dubbed version.
Appearance[]
King Jikochuu appears as a large black figure and evil, full of thorns and with a kind of helmet with horns on his head. His eyes are red and appears laughing cruelly. His resurrected body has muscular body and has hands and legs like Akudaikan.
Personality[]
King Jikochuu is a cruel being who solely focuses on eradicating everything and doesn't tolerate failure from his servants. However, he cares for Regina, but still will be angry at her if she disobeys him and forcibly turns her evil to remind her that she is supposed to be on his side.
It is ultimately revealed that King Jikochuu was Marie Ange's father, who dearly treasured his daughter that he was corrupted by Proto Jikochuu, as his resolve of curing Marie by favoring her over the kingdom made his desire selfish.
Biography[]
King Jikochuu was once the King of the Trump Kingdom, the father of Princess Marie Ange. When she fell ill, he knew that the Golden Crown of Wisdom would give him knowledge to cure her, but at the cost at unleashing darkness onto his kingdom. Nevertheless, he chose to use it anyway and managed to cure his daughter. However, in return, he was corrupted by Proto Jikochuu and became King Jikochuu.
Now a monster, King Jikochuu proceeded to create Jikochuu to conquer the Trump Kingdom before being defeated by Marie Ange and placed in a state of rest within a statue. However, King Jikochuu sends three of his most powerful followers, the Jikochuu Trio, to Earth to gather the selfishness of humans to revive him. While being sealed, King Jikochuu continuously gives orders to his minions, and shows to be cruel to their failures.
After Regina and the Jikochuu Generals deliver Marie Ange to him, King Jikochuu finally wakes up and eventually frees himself. Now escaping prison, he fights the Pretty Cure and his origin is revealed. It is then revealed that King Trump still exists deep inside him. Marie then extracts Proto Jikochuu, with the Cures destroying it. Thanks to this, King Trump returns to normal and changes the kingdom into a republic, before passing the throne to Joe and retiring from his duty as king so he can spend time with incarnations of his daughter.
