The chronological biography of King Orange from the Animation vs. Minecraft Shorts.

Background[]

Despite his name, "King" Orange was a king for only a short period of his life; for most of it, he was a normal stick figure with a little son, Gold, who he loved to playfight with. One day, while exploring the city they lived in, they came cross a new attraction; a gateway door allowing stick figures to explore Minecraft itself. King agreed to let Gold enter it. However, the simulation started bugging out and destroying itself. Gold couldn't escape due to the gateway door being locked and thus perished when the connection was terminated, essentially glitching out of existence. Heartbroken and full of hatred, King first attacked, knocked out and almost murdered the owners of the attraction before deciding to destroy all of Minecraft.

He began researching black holes and tried to not only craft a staff, but find a block powerful enough to create the black hole needed to destroy Minecraft. He managed to buy a command block from an illegal source, but disappointed with what it could do, found a new goal; the Minecraft Game Icon, the most powerful block in existence. One day, while going on a walk, he found that a store with a TV from Rocket Corp that was playing the original Animation vs. Minecraft, where it shows that five stick figures - The Second Coming, Green, Red, Blue and Yellow - found the Game Icon on their computer before one of them was possessed by an entity that, through the video, showed King Orange it's potential. He began to put up wanted posters for the Stick Gang, the five sticks from the video, until he was finally visited by a stick figure called Purple, who not only knew them, but had the skills needed to help King in his mission.

King - who was using his command block simply because it was the second best option - crafted a Nether portal in his basement and, alongside Purple, entered the Nether. They assaulted a bunch of Piglin Brutes and convinced them to serve them, promising that they will be paid for it. The Piglins agree and King crafts himself a throne before Purple, who used to be a king himself, gives him his old crown; finally making his name accurate to who he is. It's implied that King Orange somehow learned that Purple is trying to find and impress his father, Navy, and has offered him help, although this wasn't confirmed.

Animation vs. Minecraft Shorts - Season 3[]

Parkour - Episode 22[]

Orange revealed

King Orange's debut.

King Orange is first introduced when Purple kneels down before him. It's then revealed that he is the mastermind behind the events of the episode, planning to put the Stick Gang in a endless loop of parkour while Purple will steal the Game Icon from their computer, with King replacing the command block on his staff with said icon, finally creating his black hole. It's also implied he wants Purple to kill the Stick Gang.

However, they are interrupted when one of his Piglin Brutes revealed that Green, a member of the Stick Gang, has escaped his loop. King Orange erases the AI of said Piglin Brute (or, more accurately, sets it to 1 but the effect is pretty much the same), reducing it to a lifeless husk, before ordering all the Piglin Brutes and Purple to catch Green. However, Green catches Purple first and they get into a fight, but King Orange, using the command block, holds Green in the air, allowing Purple to escape.

He is then seen at the end of the episode, imprisoning Green, showing that the Stick Gang's Pig was also imprisoned here.

Titan Ravager - Episode 23[]

Orange meets yellow and blue

King Orange inviting Yellow and Blue to join him.

King Orange appears at the very end, saving two villagers from being eaten by one of the Titan Ravagers by killing it with his command block, then killing the creature's mate with the same method. Angrily walking towards Yellow and Blue, he suddenly becomes surrounded by the villagers thanking him for saving them. King Orange quickly pretends to be a nice person in front of the Villagers, before walking up to Yellow and Blue and telling them to go with him. Yellow sees that he has a command block on his staff, and takes an interest to it, deciding to join the king and convincing Blue go through it. King creates a Nether portal and all three stick figures go through it.

The Ultimate Weapon - Episode 25[]

Blue, Yellow and King Orange come out of the Nether portal and into the latter's house. The king gives Yellow and Blue crowns as a sign of friendship, and Yellow puts it on after seeing a throne with a command block staff (in reality, the command block is false and can't do anything as it is a wooden block with a different texture). Blue recalls that Purple did the same to him and Green, only to abandon them to their deaths later on, and refuses to take the crown. However, once King Orange shows him a throne filled with nether wart, his favorite food, he easily accepts.

Green and the pig then try to enter the throne room, but King Orange tries to stop them. Eventually, Green activates a TNT, blowing away King and creating a hole on the room, and explains the monarch's plan to Yellow and Blue, who instead are more focused on reuniting with their friend and embrace him. Meanwhile, King Orange has had enough. He takes out the Mellohi disc from his note block, cracks his joints, plays a Pigstep disc and then fixes the room for the battle. He raises the ceiling using the command block spectre and creates three cages before confronting the heroes. The three stick figures successfully cornered King Orange and had him at their mercy, but then their items vanished out of thin air (it was because Purple gained control of the Game Icon, who glitches out whenever going through a Nether portal). While the trio were in shock of what just happened, the king ruthlessly took the opportunity to retrieve his staff, beat them up, and get the three inside of the cages.

Orange betrays purple

King Orange betraying Purple.

When Red and Purple are fighting over the Game Icon, King Orange grabs Red with the staff and puts him in a cage. He then puts the Game Icon on his staff, making him even more powerful than before. He shoots a massive beam straight into the roof, killing some of his Piglin Brutes. King Orange then betrays Purple, even though he promised that they will share their power, and uses a giant dark laser beam to create a black hole. However, he's interrupted by the Second Coming, who had his own Game Icon, and the two duel. Meanwhile, his Piglin Brutes are wiped out, either through being killed by Green, Red, Blue and Yellow, or through being sucked into the black hole. Later on, when Purple was about to get captured by Green and Yellow, he asks King Orange for help, but he abandons him in favor of killing the Second Coming. Feeling betrayed, Purple runs off to a Nether portal and leaves the scene, with Green following him.

King Orange continues fighting the Second Coming. As the black hole sucks in everything and everyone, including Piglin Brutes, Red gets sucked into one of the Nether portals TSC spawned during his fight with the king, while Yellow and Blue steal the command block and return to the Titan Ravager village.

He's dead

King Orange's temporary defeat.

Eventually, TSC and King Orange accidentally collide their Game Icons while inside the black hole, sucking the hole into the blocks and creating a massive shockwave, blasting away everything and everyone. King Orange's castle is badly damaged, the Game Icons are sent flying, King Orange is knocked out after landing back in his house, while the Second Coming goes through a Nether portal straight into the Deep Dark biome.

The Warden - Episode 26[]

King Orange recovers and leaves his throne room, seeking to find one of the Game Icons. However, he's cornered by the Second Coming and the Warden he befriended. The king runs away from the rampaging Warden until he puts a gold block on his staff, which gives it strength that rivals the one of the Warden. Eventually, the Warden manages to overpower the monarch and take his staff away, punching him far into the distance. However, it turns out King Orange lands next to one of the Game Icons. When the heroes go to finish him off, he already has the Game Icon in his hand, floating in the air.

Monster School - Episode 27[]

He has two of them now

King Orange with both Game Icons.

He confronts the two and demands the Second Coming to give him the staff back (as it was stated by series creator Alan Becker that the staff extracts the power of the block it holds, and thus is needed to recreate his black hole), but his enemy refuses. This causes a fight that ends when King Orange imprisons the Second Coming and the Warden in netherite and takes the staff back. Before he can put the Game Icon back on it, however, he's interrupted by Red and three hostile mobs the stick figure befriended - Endie (an Enderman), Skellington (a Skeleton), and Spider (self-explanatory). King Orange battles them, with TSC and the Warden being freed by Endie. After a tough fight where both sides get a few good hits, Red takes hold of the staff and puts a netherite block on it, hitting King Orange and blasting him away in the distance. As Red and TSC reunite, the Warden hears something, causing the rest of the gang to look behind them; King Orange is floating in the air, with both of the Game Icons.

The Raid - Episode 28[]

Continuing off the events of the previous episode, King Orange creates a gigantic axe with one Game Icon and creates dark, shadowy clones of the Warden, Endie, Skellington and Spider. The evil copies prove themselves to be equally strong as the originals, but are defeated in one-hit by Red with the netherite-powered staff. King Orange locks everyone but Red and Endie out of the battle with the gigantic axe and creates more evil versions of the mobs that overpower his enemies, allowing him to get back the staff from Red. However, right after that, he's thrown into the air by a Titan Ravager - Turns out that when he was killing Titan Ravagers in their titular episode, there was one more member of the species that wasn't noticed by King Orange and ran away after seeing its family slaughtered. Yellow and Blue have befriended the Titan Ravager with promise of revenge. To make the situation better for the heroes and worse for the king, Yellow has been given a staff of his own by the Villagers he and Blue rescued earlier in the episode, and he put King's command block on it.

King Orange creates more Dark Mobs to distract Red, TSC, the Warden and the Monster Trio while he battles Yellow, Blue and the Titan Ravager - He needs to create a dark version of the creature to stand a chance against it, as well as create more gigantic weapons (during which he shoots and kills his own minion, either by accident or on purpose). As the king creates more Dark Mobs (refusing to do so to the stick figures for unknown reasons; it's possible he simply can't), he's eventually cornered when Blue starts shooting firework rockets at King Orange while he's pushed against his own giant netherite shield, before Red slams him in the back of his head with the netherite-powered staff. This is the final straw that makes the king stop playing around and get serious.

A bigger hole

King Orange creating his second black hole.

The king uses the power of the Game Icons to choke Red and take the staff back - When Yellow starts holding him in the air (just like the king did with Green in his introductory episode), he tricks Yellow into holding Red instead, before creating dozens of Dark Mobs to distract his enemies. While everyone is busy fighting, he destroys the netherite block placed on his staff, merges the two Game Icons into one Double Game Icon, puts the new block on the staff and creates a second, gigantic black hole.

Note Block Universe - Episode 29[]

When Purple explains his motives and backstory to Green, he shows how King Orange offered him a chance to become powerful, only for it to turn out he's been lying all along. After being comforted by Green, he decides to redeem himself by defeating the monarch. Using an elytra, the two fly straight into the Nether to confront him. Right as the king finished creating his new black hole, Purple arrives him and socks him in the face before grabbing his staff as he falls, to the shock and surprise of the other stick figures.

The King - Episode 30[]

After the episode is done showcasing his backstory, it cuts back to the present; King Orange landed right in the middle of the battlefield. Purple then destroys the majority of the Dark Mobs. King tries his hardest to get the staff back, but is finally cornered. While Purple can't find a way to destroy the black hole, King Orange notices Yellow has a command block staff while the stick tries to stop the Titan Ravager from crushing the king. He uses the opportunity to take hold of it and fights the heroes once again, putting up a much better fight than before. After giving Purple the Slowness and Weakness status effects, he punches him straight into the ground and gets his staff back. He creates a giant Dark Mob Abomination and sends the heroes flying.

Skellington is thrown further than anyone else, but thankfully is caught by Herobrine. He's ordered to go back home, but the skeleton points out how Endie and Spider are in danger. Not willing to let his students die, Herobrine challenges King Orange to a fight, where he shows he can rival the power of the Double Game Icon, and arguably almost outmatch it. However, during the fight, King Orange absorbs one of the Steve clones Herobrine spawned, something that caused him to take a few steps back from shock. King Orange almost sucks Herobrine into the staff, but at the last second, he manages to possess Red. He spawns a gigantic obsidian stick figure and begins to fight back. The Titan Ravager, being ridden by Yellow, Blue and Skellington, is absorbed into the staff. Skellington soon follows, much to Endie and Spider's shock. The Herobrine-possessed Red fights back in anger, but despite his efforts, the mob is sucked into the staff while the stick figure is saved by Purple.

Green and Spider attack the king, but while Endie manages to save Green at the last second, Spider is sucked in. The fight continues, and both Endie and the Warden are sucked in, leaving only the stick figures. King Orange uses the staff to feed a beam directly into the black hole, which rapidly increases the cataclysm's mass and power. Chunks of the surrounding Nether begin to gravitate towards and are eventually consumed the expanding void, including several portals leading to various dimensions that the Stick Gang had visited on their adventures, which causes the demise of said dimensions and their inhabitants. Despite their losses, the stick figures refuse to give up and launch a last ditch effort attack on King Orange, but the monarch defends himself by using the staff's beam to force them away, which eats away at their forms and causes to start glitching out. Despite the odds, Red quickly recovers and rushes back into the fight, only to be blasted away once more, with the rest of the Stick Gang eventually suffering the same defeat, now having suffered too much damage to continue the fight. Just as all hope seems to be lost, Purple rises to his feet and prepares to attack once more, despite Green's attempt to stop him. King Orange sees Purple coming however and blasts him for a third time, but Purple stands his ground and begins to slowly advance forward despite the beam's destructive force. As this happening however, the sight of Purple's losing struggle reminds King Orange of how his own son died. He tries to shake away the memory and focus on his mission, but more memories of both Gold and Purple reemerge, and King Orange slowly realises that Purple is just like how Gold was as he begins to lose his resolve. A heavily damaged Purple manages to get within a few feet of King Orange and the staff, but the damage finally takes its toll, and Purple passes out as he is blown away. The sight causes King Orange to immediately drop the staff and run after Purple. His fatherly instincts seemingly returning, King Orange races after Purple as fast as he can, all while memories of his mistreatment towards the latter plague his mind. Reaching the edge of a steep drop, King Orange leaps into the beam carrying Purple and swims towards him as the two are swallowed by the black hole and disintegrated.

Redemption 2

King Orange's redemption.

While the Stick Gang tries their hardest to undo King Orange's mistakes, King Orange finds himself walking forward in a white void after he along with Purple are swallowed into the black hoke. Walking into a recreation of his own house, he finds that the place is somewhat alive and an animated wall drawing shows him an animation that represents how, in his quest to avenge Gold following his death, he started hurting innocent people who had nothing to do with his tragically and lost his one chance at moving on from Gold's death by betraying Purple. Realizing what he's done, King Orange feels remorse for his actions and begins desperately smashing the wall until he finally destroys it. In a black void, he finds a heartbroken Purple, who himself has lost his father through abandonment. He runs to him and then hugs him.

At the same time, the Second Coming manages to save everything, with the entirety of Minecraft, which has been completely sucked into King Orange's void, being brought back into existence by the Double Game Icon. The Warden, the Yellow Team, Herobrine, the Titan Ravager, the Fighting Stick Figures and even their long-lost pig are resurrected, with Purple and King Orange being revived just seconds before the DGI separates into two normal Game Icons. King Orange apologizes for his actions by first bowing down to the Second Coming before resurrecting the Titan Ravager's family using the command block. Purple and King Orange say their goodbyes to the Stick Gang one final time before leaving, with a post-credit scene showing the two on the playground that the king and his son once played on, having become a surrogate family.

King Orange vs. The Dark Lord[]

Seeing something crash in the Nether, King Orange - with his crown and Double Game Icon-powered staff - goes to investigate. It turns out this was none other than the Dark Lord himself, the series' main antagonist and fellow omnicidal maniac. He uses his wristband to create a spike and prepares to fight him. The king responds by attacking him with obsidian. While his opponent's powers easily destroy any of his attacks, King Orange still proves himself to be no pushover and manages to get a few good hits in. He ultimately decides to destroy him with a blast out of his staff (the same one he killed Purple with), but the Dark Lord shrugs it off and starts flying towards the king. Just as they're about to reach each other, a gigantic pig with Herobrine's glowing eyes, eight legs and six angel wings appears before them and decimates them in one shot.

The scene then cuts to reality, which shows that Yellow and Green were playing pretend with figurines of their opponents, and that the giant god-pig is just Red's normal pig. Green ragequits, throws the Dark Lord toy on the ground and leaves.

Speedrun Competition[]

King Orange's Speedrun - An Actual Short[]

King Orange ends up joining a Minecraft speedrun competition held by the Stick Gang. Yellow hands him his staff, which holds a command block, to make it easier for him, as well as his crown. This allows King Orange to completely blitz the speedrun however; using structure locating commands to find a stronghold, place block commands to activate the end portal and winds up launching the Ender Dragon into the Void, completing the speedrun in five seconds and two hundred and fifty milliseconds. This places him at first place by a longshot and on a podium of diamond blocks. As the rest of the Stick Gang look at him dumbfounded, Green rejects his own trophy and sulks. But King Orange, not really bothered about winning or losing, places his crown on Green's head to make him feel better.

Actual Shorts - Season 2[]

"More Faces"[]

In this upcoming fighting game, King Orange is revealed to be one of the playable characters, wearing a cape and wielding a Gold Block Staff.
