King Smooth Cheeks Mudbeard, better known as simply, King Pig, is the main antagonist of Rovio and Sega’s Angry Birds franchise.
He is the greedy and dimwitted ruler of Piggy Island and the Bad Piggies, succeeding his father. He is obsessed with stealing the titular characters' eggs and eating them. He is the arch-nemesis of the Angry Birds.
He was voiced by Antti Pääkkönen in Angry Birds Toons and Baker Terry in Angry Birds on the Run. Pääkkönen also voiced Kamek in the Finnish dub of The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Kaa in the Finnish version of The Jungle Book (1967).
Appearance[]
King Pig is a large, limbless, oval-shaped pig with lime-colored skin. He has wide eyes and a green pig's snout in between. His ears are aligned to one side of his head, while the other side has a small, yellow crown with spiky ends on the top part of it, as well as small, blue jewels on it.
As Porcula, he has light green skin. He has sharp fangs, ear shaped white hair and he wears a black coat with silver buttons and a purple interior. When he transforms into a bat, he is black with lighter spots, has long bat wings and large bat ears with a light and dark green interior.
As an Octopig, after he ate a radioactive candy, he is oversized gigantic and aggressive. He retains his pig-like head and crown, but the rest of his body is replaced by eight large, lime-green tentacles, which he uses to flail at Bubbles during their confrontation.
As Megatron Pig, he is directly based off Megatron's appearance from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. He also has palette-swap characters: Bludgeon Pig, Brawl Pig, and Shockwave Pig.
Personality[]
King Pig is depicted as self-centered and immature, demanding the best food and toys whilst also throwing tantrums when his demands are not met. He has a fixation on the three eggs of the birds and his main goal to eat them in order to become a legitimate monarch. The fact that he has tasted an egg is one he seeks to hide by arranging fake egg eating ceremonies as it could get him removed from the throne.
Another trait of the King is his lack of intelligence and narcissism; he is easily tricked and tends to tamper with his own plans by not listening to the warnings of others. He also views himself as beyond others and frequently seeks to paint himself as the biggest and strongest of the pigs to the point that he has created laws that mandate consistent adoration of him and actively creates propaganda in his favor.
Despite being Cowardly, he is can also be bravo and even at times of fighting the Angry Birds throughout the franchise, in Angry Birds Toons Episode ‘Eating Out’, where Red, Bomb, and Chuck are stealing cake in the pig palace and fighting the pigs, he shown to stop hiding behind from his throne and decide to face his arch-nemesis, Red, as both clash each other in the cake. And even the episode ‘Sweet of Doom’, when he turn into a giant Octopig after he ate radioactive candy, he can be aggressive and imitating, when he fight bubble, shown he seem to be surprisedly strong.
But as Porcula in the Halloween Episode of the same name, He is hungry for blood, very angry and very evil. He will suck any pig's blood even if that pig served him, like Corporal Pig. He can turn into a bat to fly to a certain place and will turn his coat into wings when he is very angry to attack an enemy.
Despite being greedy and self-centered, he is shown to be friendly and comedically, even in Angry Birds Toons. He does have benevolent traits such as rewarding pigs for succeeding and was willing to give Terence his crown to get his teddy bear back. He admires his favorite famous wrestling idol known as El Porkador, as he wanted to be a wrestler like him, he is also shown loyal and care for his son, Prince Porky who was to helping and getting his father crown that was stolen by Wizpig and King Pig was so proud of his son in Angry Birds Epic. King Pig also sometimes teams up with the Birds to battle against other greater threats like Wizpig and the Eggbots. King pig can Apology to a pig who was actually from the stars in the book, ‘Angry Birds: a Pig from the stars’[1]. And he also felt sorry for himself for being naughty and decide to give cupcakes to his minion in order to get a toy from Terrence who was disguised as Santa in the episode, Joy to the pigs[2]. When King Pig turn into Megatron Pig in the Angry Birds Transformers, he is a fine, noble, brave and selfless ruler, Megatron Pig leads the Deceptihogs in their never-ending quest for the Eggs. And even in the IDW Comic of the same name of the game, when the Eggbots taking over the island and loss control of his minion pigs, Red(as Optimus Prime Bird) telling no birds or pigs left behind, Megatron pig willing to team up and then he ordered Soundwave Pig, Galvatron Pig, Heatwave Bird and Jazz Bird to accompany his remaining Minion Pigs, and showing that King Pig does help protect the pigs from the Eggbots and save Piggy Island from other threats.[3][4]

- High Durability: King Pig is surprisingly durable and able to withstand physical punishment that he can survive through anything such as massive falling, crushed by heavy material, and even survive explosion with his whole physically body without any damage. His resilience is one of his most defining traits, allowing him to consistently survive and return to antagonize the Angry Birds after each defeat.
- Regeneration and Resurrection: Like other Pigs, whatever they get popped, they will be send them into the white limbo, a white void between life and death, the pigs can be treated by Dr. Pork and respawn back to the normal world, which mean pigs cannot died but rather respawn back. This mean that King Pig will likely to do the same, since he is a pig. [5]
- Flight: He can be seen flying with the aid of balloons, though this can be an automatic process that prevents coin and fruit collection
- Strength and Large Size: His strength is considerable due to his size, and he is often depicted using his heft to break things and ground-pound, and he is biggest and toughest of all the pigs.
- Burp(Angry Birds Epic) - Deals N damage. Rage ability of target is blocked for 2 turns.
- Weeping Cry(Angry Birds Epic) - Charge: 2 turns. The King cries and sobs. No effect at all! He's a wimp.
- Annoying(Angry Birds Epic) - Passive: Increases attack power of all allies by 20%.
Abilities[]
- Combat: King Pig was using his royal scepter that he use it as melee weapon which is shown at boss fight in the game “Angry Birds Fight!” [6]
- Roping: King Pig has the lasso that he can use it which is shown in game and the toons, and lasso is type of cowboy style.
- Trickery: Despite being stupid, he is also shown to be cunning enough to trick the birds by using the cardboard cutout decoy of himself to distract them, which is work out really well from the game, Angry Birds Chapter, Mighty Hoax.

King Pig has many tools and item from his kingdom and some items from the game, Bad Piggies, where Ross and Mechanic Pig build vehicles, King Pig also use vehicles and makeshift ride for his pig army, allow them to ride, and even makeshift rides has capable enough to do on ground or even the air, though it was used to steal the eggs from Red, in Angry Birds Chapter, Red’s Mighty Feathers.
- TNT Crate - Capable of whatever get hit hard or destroy it will cause explosion.
- Dynamite - In Angry Birds Toon Episode, Joy to the pigs, in opening scene shown where king pig has put dynamite on snowman where explode just for prank.[7]
- Lasso - He use it to captured the eggs shown Angry Birds game episode”Ham 'Em High” cutscene, and he even use it again in Angry birds Toons episode, A Fistful of Cabbage.[8][9]
- Go-Karts - King Pig is capable of being racer in the game, Angry Birds Go!
- The Claw(UFO) - In Angry Birds Space, he travel the galaxies with his UFO to protect himself from being freeze outside of space.[10]
- Radioactive candy - In the Episode of Angry Birds Toons, “Sweets of Doom”, when King Pig eat radioactive candy that turn him into a Giant Octopig.[11]

Angry Birds[]
King Pig first appeared in the 3-21 level in the original Angry Birds, and appeared in every episode in the game ever since. He tries to eat the Angry Birds' eggs in various ways but always failed. He is the toughest boss in Angry Birds, being able to survive small falls and being crushed by stone.
Angry Birds Seasons[]
King Pig returns in Angry Birds Seasons as a recurring enemy. Making his first appearance in the 3-15 level. He is the most resistant pig like he was in the original, he usually appears in the last levels of the episodes. When he is popped, the player will get 5000 points.
Angry Birds Friends[]
In Angry Birds Friends, King Pig appears as a common enemy in the tournaments, as well as in Piggy Tower and the Star Cup.
Angry Birds Space[]
King Pig appears as the main antagonist of Angry Birds Space. Before the events of the game, he and his minions went into space to steal the Eggsteroids from Ice Bird. When Ice Bird crash-landed on earth with an eggsteroid, near the Angry Birds' nest, King Pig used his UFO to grab a chunk of soil that had the eggsteroid and the flock's eggs and flee with them. However, his operations were thwarted by the Angry Birds, who rescued the eggsteroids and their own eggs. In gameplay, he is usually the final boss of the episodes.
Bad Piggies[]
In Bad Piggies, King Pig is the deuteragonist. At the start of the events of the game, he, Mechanic Pig, and Ross found a construction set and a telescope. With the latter, he spotted the eggs on a hill, and told Mechanic Pig to make a map to get to them. However, Ross accidentally destroyed the map, and the monarch, not satisfied with this, forced him to gather all the pieces. After the pig did so, the three went to the eggs' suppose location, only to find no eggs. Then, they looked at the telescope again, and found the eggs in another place. Just as Mechanic Pig was about to make another map, King Pig advice him to use a piece of wood instead. Ross made the map on a box as suggested, only to find out that it was a box of TNT, which exploded and sent all the pieces flying away as King Pig looked at him in disapproval.
Later, King Pig managed to gather all the pieces of the map with the help of Ross and Mechanic Pig. They later went to the location of the eggs, only to find out that they were not there either, for the monarch's disapproval. Then, it turned out that they were fooled by Jake, Jay and Jim, who painted eggs on the telescope to make it look like there were actually eggs whenever they were looking at. Furious, King Pig started to chase after his two minions as the Blues laughed out loud behind a bush.
Some time later, King Pig realized that the cake Chef Pig had baked for him was destroyed by Ross and Mechanic Pig, who were starving at the moment. However, his two minions gave him the reformed the game, and the monarch proceeded to eat it in satisfaction.
One night, King Pig, Ross and Mechanic Pig were the Angry Birds' nest, where the eggs were lying on as usual. Ross sneakily got one of the eggs and ran away with it to his allies. King Pig suggested to use use a vehicle to leave with it safely. After getting far enough from the birds, King Pig tried to smash the egg with a hammer. However, the latter breaks down, as it turned out that the Blues had painted egg-shaped rocks white to fool the pigs once again. Not happy with this, King Pig started to chase after Mechanic Pig and Ross.
Angry Birds Star Wars series[]
King Pig appears as the main antagonist of the games and its sequel as Emperor Palpatine. He appears in level 30 along with Darth Vader which he fires electricity, you can only beat him by throwing obstacles in his chair, then it plays a cutscene which he then electrocutes Vader (instead of Luke Skywalker like in the movie which it was based on), only for him to be defeated by Luke.
Angry Birds Go![]
King Pig is a playable racer in Angry Birds Go!; he is the fourth opponent in 1.0.0, and the sixth one in 2.0.0. In version 1, he is unlocked within Rocky Road, though version 2 simply has a page dedicated for his unlock, as does all other characters. Like the rest of the cast, King Pig appears in 3D for the first time, which allows him to be more expressive than before. King Pig' special ability is hovering over the stage using balloons. It can be used well, but King Pig will not be able to collect coins, splat fruit, or travel very high.
Angry Birds Epic[]
In Angry Birds Epic, King Pig ordered Prince Porky and Wizpig to steal him eggs in order to fulfill his anger, only to him being left one egg upon their return, in his boss fight he calls his minions for help against the Angry Birds. After his defeat in castle number five, Wizpig betrayed him once he stole the fifth egg and the crown. The birds retrieved the egg and returned the crown to King Pig that gets him to redemption.
Angry Birds 2[]
King Pig appears as one of the main antagonists of the game, alongside Foreman Pig and Chef Pig. He appears as a recurring boss and is heavily guarded by the obstacles which the birds have to get through in order to defeat him. After running out of health, he then crashes into the screen each time he is beaten.
Angry Birds POP![]
King Pig appears in the "Defeat King Pig" levels as a boss which the player needs to defeat in those levels by popping the most pigs, replacing Gale in 2016.
Angry Birds Transformers[]
King Pig appears as one of the main protagonists as Bludgeon, Brawl, Megatron Both Dark, Ultimate, and Energon, and Shockwave, They All use Same Movements but different bullets they shot.
Trivia[]
- Smooth Cheeks was set to appear in The Angry Birds Movie as the crown prince, but was cut during development, and didn't appear in the sequel either.
- He has occasionally been replaced with his father Leonard Mudbeard in games such as Angry Birds Reloaded.
