Originally appearing as a unique variant of Shakalaka in Monster Hunter 2, King Shakalaka is a Lynian that was revealed as a distinct, massive monster in Monster Hunter Freedom Unite.
Appearance[]
King Shakalaka resembles its subjects in appearance but is a little bigger. Wearing a barbecue spit on its head, it wields a thighbone like a club.
Abilities[]
King Shakalaka can do a lot of harm because of its remarkable strength for its size. The BBQ spit on top of its head can shoot fireballs.
Behavior[]
Shakalaka the King is a belligerent ruler. Although it depends on cooperation to defeat an adversary, its leadership abilities stem from the link it has with its subordinates.
Habitat[]
Small Shakalaka settlements tucked away in the woods are ruled by the King Shakalaka, who is found in the Great Forest, the Forest and Hills, and the Jungle.
Game Appearances[]
King Shakalaka serves as a covert Shakalaka variant in Monster Hunter 2. It is regarded as just another Shakalaka and has no quests of its own. King Shakalaka is the sole way to obtain rare "Music Note" goods, which may be used to access the Forest and Hills in the High Rank task pool, and is hence an essential component of MH2's online development even if it lacks its own quests.
However, like other "drome" monsters, King Shakalaka was returned in Monster Hunter Freedom Unite as a big monster that was completely distinct from regular Shakalaka.
