~ King Sonic to his counterpart from the main universe. |
King Sonic the Hedgehog is a minor antagonist in the Sonic the Comic comic book series. He hails from an alternated dimension, Mirror Zone, where he was the one to get turned evil by the ROCC malfunction instead of Dr. Kintobor, becoming a cruel tyrant as a result.
Biography[]
Past[]
King Sonic's life is presumed to be the same as his main counterpart's up until the malfunctioning of Dr. Kintobor's ROCC machine; whereas in the Sonic the Comic universe it turned Kintobor into Robotnik, in the Mirror Zone Sonic was the one affected by it. He became evil, and eventually took over Mobius, ruling it with an iron fist, only opposed by a ragtag group of Freedom Fighters including the likes of Tails and Amy.
Sonic the Comic[]
When Sonic and Amy endedup in the Mirror Zone, the former was mistaken by the locals and Freedom Fighters for King Sonic and attacked by them. Eventually the confusion was cleared out, Sonic, Amy, and the Mirror Zone versions of Tails and Amy headed for King Sonic's stronghold. King Sonic confronted them there, fighting the good Sonic and threatening to take over his world after killing him. As Sonic couldn't defeat him in a battle, he simply held on until King Sonic would reach his breaking point. When this finally happened, he transformed into Super Sonic, who, unlike his main universe self, was passive. The Mirror Zone Freedom Fighters decided to have their Tekno find a way to keep King Sonic in this form permanently. It's unknown if they ever succeeded in this.
Sonic the Comic Online![]
King Sonic was one of the suspects name-dropped by his prime counterpart while he speculated over who could have framed him for Mega Mack missile attacks.
Personality[]
King Sonic seems to lack his counterpart's positive qualities while having the negative ones amplified, or even sharing some ofthe latter with Dr. Robotnik. He oppresses his subjects and seems to enjoy placating his surroundings with his likeness. He has a bit of a temper which proved to be his downfall, as he turned into Super Sonic in a fit of rage, and became the complete opposite of himself.
Trivia[]
- King Sonic's backstory seems to be reminiscent of that of Cinos the Anti-Sonic, another evil parallel version of Sonic, originating from novels by Virgin Books.
