King Terak was the chief antagonist of the live-action movie Ewoks: Battle For Endor and was the brutal leader of the Sanyassan Marauders who terrorized the inhabitants of Endor in their quest to obtain the mythical "Power".

He was portrayed by Carel Struyken

History

Terak was a vicious and bloodthirsty warlord who was obsessed with obtaining what he called "The Power", which he was convinced would allow him to leave Endor and conquer the galaxy. To this end, his army was responsible for the deaths of the Towani family (all save Cindel) in the hopes of stealing their star cruiser's crystal oscillator.

Fortunately for the rest of the galaxy, Terak's strength was not equaled by his intelligence. His way of thinking was more in the superstitious form than the scientific form. Otherwise he could have simply taken the Towanis' ship. Instead, Terak believed beyond a shadow of a doubt that the oscillator by itself was the key to letting him and the other Marauders leave Endor, and he spent quite a while trying to get the thing to work by having his mystic, a athomirian Nightsister named Charal, chant over it.

Terak was eventually defeated by the Ewoks and their Human allies, Cindel and Noa Briqualon and Teek. When he couldn't have "the Power" of the oscillator, he stole Charal's magic ring that allowed her to transform into animals (which was likely a Sith artefact given the fact most "magic" on Star Wars is seen as a variation of the Force), and wore it around his neck. Noa and Terak engaged into a climactic duel, but Terak gained the upper-hand, and defeated Noa, but just before he tried to kill Noa, Teek intervened, and saved the life of his companion by jumping on Terak's head, unbalancing him and the Ewok Wicket W. Warrick struck and damaged the ring with a stone. This released its powers on him and he was burned from the inside-out, turning into stone.
