Kingpin's Criminal Empire are major antagonists in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

They're a powerful crime syndicate based in New York City, and are led by Wilson Fisk, also known as the Kingpin, and his wife Vanessa Fisk.

History[]

Daredevil[]

After returning to New York City, Wilson Fisk built his criminal empire through allying with numerous underworld factions, such as the Tracksuit Mafia, the Five Families, and the Black Knife Cartel. He also formed partnerships with the New York branch of The Hand, led by Madame Gao, as well as the Russian Mafia, led by the Ranskahov brothers.

Using his legitimate businesses as a front for his criminal activity, and operating through his right hand man James Wesley, Fisk remained under the radar for a long time.

Season 1[]

In 2015, Fisk attempted to blow up Hell's Kitchen, so he could remodel it in his vision. However, the plan was foiled by the vigilante known as Daredevil. Fisk would soon be apprehended for his crimes, and was arrested by the FBI and NYPD, which also resulted in his businesses being shut down, and a lot of his subordinates being arrested. Fisk attempted to escape with the help of his people, but was recaptured by Daredevil. Thus, his empire was left weakened, with all of his remaining people going into hiding.

Season 3[]

Three years later, Fisk was released into FBI protective custody after a failed assassination attempt from the Albanian Mob. Taking up residence in a luxurious suite at the President Hotel, Fisk gained leverage over the FBI agents led by Ray Nadeem and forced them to be his criminal subordinates through threatening their families. Fisk brought on fixer for hire Felix Manning and FBI agent Benjamin Poindexter as his main enforcers. With him dressing up Poindexter in a replica of Daredevil's suit, using this to frame him for terrorists.

Soon, Fisk's fiancé, Vanessa Marianna, returned to New York, and started getting more involved with Fisk's empire.

Using his FBI allies, Fisk had all the top crime lords of the city brought to a meeting where he proposed they kick up 20% of their income to him and they will be given his protection. After having Poindexter kill one of the crime lords who disagreed as an example, they all agreed.

However, Poindexter eventually turned on Fisk and attempted to assassinate Fisk and Vanessa at their wedding. Daredevil arrived, and was able to prevent this. But Fisk was arrested for his crimes, including the murder of Ray Nadeem.
