Biography[]
Kir Kanos completed his training on the planet Yinchorr to join the Imperial Royal Guard. During this time, he befriended Carnor Jax. One day, while all the students were training in the the Squall, Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader visited Yinchorr to assess the progress of the new candidates. During the confrontation, Vader easily defeated and killed the candidate Burr Danid, who was considered the best among them at that time.
Since that time, Kir Kanos realized that he still had much improvement ahead and a lot more training to undergo. Eventually, Kir Kanos, together with his friend Carnor Jax and two other students, Alum Frost and Lemmet Tauk, demonstrated their worthiness for the final test. They were required to proceed to a hall, where Jax and Frost entered first, and shortly afterward, Kanos and Tauk followed. Inside the hall, multiple guards, Palpatine, and Darth Vader were present. In front of them, Kanos observed blood on the floor. Darth Vader handed Kanos and Tauk a double-bladed sword each. Then, Palpatine asked them to fight for him. In the end, Kanos prevailed over Tauk and ended his life.
Palpatine praised Kanos and informed him that he had been accepted into the Guard, after which he left the room. Kanos bent down to the lifeless Tauk and offered an apology, but Darth Vader, who was still present, stated that Kanos had no right to feel pity and now serve to the Emperor. A moment of silence followed, and then Vader drew his lightsaber and challenged Kanos. Kanos fought back, but Vader managed to break his defense and wound him on the face.
