Kiril (Russian: Кирилл) is a minor antagonist in the 2009 video game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (including its 2020 remaster).
He was a Russian terrorist, Inner Circle affiliate and an Ultranationalist member who aids Vladimir Makarov in framing the United States for the Zakhaev airport massacre, but was killed during the event. Despite his death, the massacre resulted in Russia declaring world war against the United States, but the war was stopped by Delta Force team Metal, and the disavowed Task Force 141.
Biography
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Not much is known about Kiril's past, but he eventually joined the Russian Ultranationalists and Inner Circle, and was chosen to help Makarov in framing the United States.
Joining with Lev, Viktor and "Alexei Borodin", the group participated in killing unarmed civilians in the airport and fighting the FSB. Both Kiril and Lev were killed while fighting the FSB, or possibly killed by Borodin (who was actually American CIA agent Joseph Allen).
Despite his death, Makarov succeeded in having the United States framed, as he executed Allen and left his body to be found by Russian police. The massacre would cause the Russian government to declare war against the United States, igniting World War III.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
Kiril appears in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in a flashback in the mission "Blood Brothers", where Yuri recalls how he and Lev held him after he was revealed to be a mole.
Makarov criticized Yuri for trying to stop his plan, and shot him before going to the elevator. Yuri attempted to stop the massacre by himself, but eventually fell from his gunshot wound, as Kiril and the group committed the act.
World War III would end when the Russian president, Boris Vorshevsky and his daughter, Alena, were rescued by Delta Force's team "Metal" and Task Force 141.
