~ Kisch's last words. |
Kisch is a major antagonist in the 1964 James Bond film Goldfinger. He is a henchman of Auric Goldfinger.
He was portrayed by the late Michael Mellinger.
History[]
Being an employee of Auric Enterprises, Kisch was tasked to aid Goldfinger in his plot to destroy Fort Knox and its supply of gold so that the value of Goldfinger's gold will increase and make him the richest man in the world. To that end, he helped Goldfinger and Oddjob capture James Bond, as well as killing several crime bosses (such as Jed Midnight and Jack Strap) with fatal nerve gas.
During the final phases of Goldfinger's plan, Kisch (posing as a U.S. army officer) handcuffs Bond to a nuclear bomb (provided by Mr. Ling) inside Fort Knox. Little did he and Goldfinger knew that Bond previously seduced Goldfinger's main pilot Pussy Galore into switching the gas with a more harmless one, allowing the U.S. army officers to fight back against Goldfinger's men. Before killing Mr. Ling and several soldiers to escape, Goldfinger shuts the gold vault, leaving both Kisch and Oddjob trapped inside with Bond and the bomb.
Realizing that they have been used, Kisch attempts to disarm the bomb to save himself and Oddjob. However, wanting Goldfinger's plan to succeed despite the latter's betrayal, Oddjob throws Kisch off from a high altitude to his death, much to Bond's shock. Eventually, Kisch's death was avenged when Bond kills Oddjob by electrocuting him.
