Experiment 601, commonly known as Kixx, is a minor character in the Lilo & Stitch franchise.
He is an illegal genetic experiment created by Dr. Jumba Jookiba, designed to utilize his kickboxing and wrestling skills to intimidate and defeat opponents in hand-to-hand combat. His true calling is teaching kickboxing and hosting his own workout video titled Kickboxing with Kixx.
Kixx is portrayed as a skilled kickboxer who enjoys instigating fights, which makes him appear to be a bully. He is also depicted as hotheaded and prone to violence. However, after befriending Lilo and Stitch, Kixx has managed to better control his temper. Despite his aggressive nature, Kixx is loyal to those who earn his trust. He is courageous and a formidable fighter but also has a softer side. He takes pride in kickboxing, wrestling, and baseball.
Appearance[]
Kixx resembles a purple, muscular Tasmanian Devil-like creature with a lavender stomach, chest, inner ears, and spots around his eyes. He has four strong, gorilla-like arms with three fingers on each paw and a blue oval spot on each elbow. His legs are smaller and stubbier than his arms, and his head appears to connect directly to his chest, with little neck present.
Biography[]
Lilo & Stitch: The Series[]
Experiment 601 was the 601st experiment created by Jumba with funding from Hämsterviel. He was intended to use his kickboxing and wrestling abilities to overpower enemies. Along with the first 624 experiments, he was deactivated and smuggled to Earth by Jumba during his mission to capture Experiment 626. The experiment pods were released and scattered across the island of Kauai, with Kixx's pod landing near a cliff face.
When a dehydrated tourist traveling with his wife threw a half-full water bottle over the cliff, it landed near a ravine and trickled down, activating Kixx's pod. Kixx then attacked the couple, beating them after the husband mistakenly referred to him as a wild purple pig.
Later, when Lilo and Stitch arrived to capture Kixx (who had continued to assault other tourists), Kixx ambushed them. Stitch was prepared to fight Kixx, but due to an earlier incident where his combat training was erased, he hesitated. Lilo was forced to retreat with Stitch while Kixx was distracted by attacking the newly arrived Gantu.
While Kixx likely continued his rampage, Jumba provided Lilo with several books, including one titled Fighting Four-Armed Monsters, to assist her in retraining Stitch for combat. After practicing and mastering several training exercises, Stitch was nearly ready to face Kixx in a hand-to-hand battle.
Meanwhile, Kixx attacked Muscle Bay, easily defeating all the boxers. Stitch then challenged Kixx to a rematch, leading to an extended battle. Initially, Kixx overpowered Stitch, but with Lilo's guidance and Stitch's improved coordination, Stitch ultimately defeated Kixx, who was restrained with ropes.
Kixx, now known as Kixx, soon found his true calling in teaching kickboxing. Back on Gantu's ship, Experiment 625 and an injured Gantu watched a commercial featuring Kixx hosting his own instructional workout video, which inspired Gantu to learn kickboxing after being defeated by Kixx.
Kixx made a return in "Elastico" as one of the audience members at Lilo's hula dance.
In "The Asteroid," Kixx was one of six experiments that Stitch persuaded to join him and Lilo in saving Earth from an incoming asteroid. During the journey, Kixx kicked the back of Spooky's seat, which caused Spooky to frighten him with his nightmarish morphing ability. Additionally, when Kixx reached for the free refreshments, Pleakley slapped his hand away, prompting Kixx to retaliate and take a bag of peanuts. He later endured a beating from Hammerface and assisted Stitch in removing the ship's hyperdrive engine.
Kixx made a brief appearance in "Houdini," showcasing his recent kickboxing commercial.
In "Angel," Kixx was one of the experiments that Angel reverted to evil using her song, leading him to assault athletes and forcing Stitch to confront him once more. Later, Kixx and the other corrupted experiments attacked Stitch aboard a ship, but Angel managed to redeem them before Kixx could deliver a fatal blow. Together, the experiments successfully escaped the ship with Stitch.
Kixx reappeared in "Slugger" as part of Lilo's softball team.
In "Shoe," Kixx was among the experiments that helped transform Jumba's ship into a hotel.
Kixx was one of the experiments in "Checkers" who joined Stitch in a rebellion against Gantu. Although he did not participate in the battle, he was later seen rebuilding the float after Gantu's defeat.
In "Ploot," Kixx was part of the initial team of experiments, alongside Deforestator and Richter, formed to stop Ploot. However, Ploot easily defeated them, forcing the three experiments to retreat.
Kixx was visible on a computer screen in "Ace," posing as an evil creation of Jumba in a hoax intended to deceive Mortlegax, the head of E.G.O. industries.
Leroy & Stitch[]
The first 624 experiments, including Kixx, were captured by Leroy and taken to a stadium for destruction. However, Lilo, Stitch, Jumba, Pleakley, Reuben, and Gantu arrived just in time to prevent their destruction. Kixx fought in the ensuing battle between the experiments and the Leroy clones, successfully defeating attacking Leroys.
Although the Leroys initially gained the upper hand, they were ultimately defeated when Lilo, Stitch, Reuben, and several other experiments performed the song "Aloha ʻOe," which caused the Leroy army to shut down due to the original Leroy's fail-safe. Kixx joined in for the song by playing the congas.
Stitch![]
Kixx appeared in the Stitch! anime, alongside Pix, Boomer, Slushy, Blowhard, and Slugger, when Yuna and Stitch visited Tokyo Disneyland. He made a second appearance after Hämsterviel modified him with a new samurai fighting style and a matching samurai outfit. After being defeated, Kixx was presumably reverted to normal, then dehydrated back into an experiment pod and locked in Jumba's vault. Eventually, Jumba retrieved his pod to assist Stitch in his battle against Dark End, but Kixx was not among the activated experiments. He later appeared in the special Stitch and the Planet of Sand.
