“ | Klunk: You seem to be slowing down in your old age. Clank: I am still spry enough to deal with traitorous scum, like you. Klunk: Ah, still the righteous do-gooder. Have you learned nothing at all? Clank: I have learned there is a difference between right and wrong. Klunk: That's true, but it's not as black and white as you seem to think. You can do the wrong things for the right reasons. Clank: For example? Klunk: Let's start by the way you count out to that furry, whatever it is. He is dumber and weaker than you, yet you ride around on his back like some kid on a carousel. Clank: Ratchet has proven his worth as a hero and a friend. I am privileged to help him with his missions. Klank: Ha! What a load of self-diluting garbage! If he is such a hero, why was it so easy to swap his helmet for my mind control device, and have him steal the Eye of Infinity for me? |

XJ-0461 2, usually referred to as Klunk, is an evil replica of Clank in the Ratchet & Clank series. He appears as the main antagonist in Secret Agent Clank.
He is voiced by David Kaye, who also played his original counterpart and Arishem the Judge in Eternals.
Appearance[]
Klunk shares a similar appearance to his counterpart, as he is a silver robot. Unlike Clank, he has red eyes (which he can turn green), as well as a metallic goatee, and a gold vest.
Biography[]
Klunk's history was largely the same as his main series counterpart's up until his defeat at Ratchet's hands on Kerwan. While main series Klunk had apparently died, his Secret Agent Clank version survived the encounter with Ratchet and spent some time working at a toilet factory, but abruptly quit on the same day the lombax and Clank defeated Otto Destruct.
Klunk used a device to brainwash Ratchet to steal the Eye of Infinity, leading to his imprisonment. Clank investigates this and deduces that the Kingpin (who was Klunk in disguise) was behind the scheme and framed Ratchet.
He would have one of his minions named B.A.R.N.E.Y follow Captain Qwark and write his falsified biography to boost his reputation, knowing that his egotism would drive him to follow Clank in order to stay in the spotlight. This allowed him to keep a trace of Clank's location, and would later reveal his true identity to Clank before fleeing.
As Clank catches up, it is revealed that he plans to destroy most planets in the Solana Galaxy using the Eye of Infinity-powered satellite and frame Ratchet for it, ensuring that he would be jailed indefinitely, as well as kill Clank to take his place and be seen as a public hero figure. During his fight with Clank, he destroys the satellite's remote control, expecting it to destroy every planet in the galaxy should he lose. Ultimately, he is defeated and the satellite is deactivated by Qwark. Klunk's body is then converted into a vacuum cleaner, with Clank commenting that it "sucks to be him." His eyes still glowed however, hinting he was not dead.
Quotes[]
“ | Clank: I knew it! Ratchet would never act that way on his own! Klunk: Yes, but it's amazing how easily those other squishies believed that he could. You are better than that, I am better than that. We are designed to be superior, and we should act like it! Clank: What are you suggesting? Klunk: It's quite simple, really. I'm going to become a hero, and make all squishies in the galaxy bow to my every whim! Clank: They will never believe you are a hero! Klunk: No, but they will believe you are. They just won't know that I am you. (laughs) |

~ Klunk declaring his true plans to Clank. |
“ | Klunk: Hmm, I may have underestimated you. However, no plan is complete without...(pulls out the remote control) a backup plan. Clank: Now what? Klunk:(turns the remote on) I have just activated the countdown timer for the satellite, and I'm the only one who knows how to disarm it (breaks the remote's antenna). If by some miracle you manage to defeat me (drops the remote on the floor), this entire galaxy will be blown to smithereens! So, either way, I will be victorious! I look at it as a sort of a win-win situation... |
