~ Kody finding the painting while promising to kill Alexa Carlisle |
Kody Haynes, also known as The Collector, is the first Elusive Target of HITMAN III. He is an obsessive, homicidal art thief prowling Thornbridge Manor to steal a painting.
He was voiced by Matthew Gravelle.
Biography[]
Little is known of Kody Haynes' childhood except that he started collecting since he was a child, starting with mini-cacti before progressing on to rare coins and finally paintings. He married the heiress to the Tip Tap Toe fast food empire and leeched of his wife's family fortune to finance his art collecting. When his subterfuge was discovered, Haynes fled and went underground.
Freed from all social ties, Haynes continued his art collecting. Unable to purchase paintings with his lack of funds and newfound infamy, he infiltrates mansions and galleries, steals artworks and more disturbingly, murders previous owners. His recent mark is a Sisal Bardu painting, owned by Alexa Christine Carlisle and housed in her ancestral estate, Thornbridge Manor.
However, as Haynes set off to retrieve the painting for his collection, the art gallerist who sold the Sisal Bardu hired Agent 47 to eliminate Haynes to prevent his reputation being tainted and Haynes from killing him.
Behavior[]
Haynes, having disguised himself as a wildlife inspector searching for a "Ghost Orchid", has successfully infiltrated Thornbridge Manor. Pestered by a guard who refuses to let him search upstairs, he will walk around the garden and first floor, talking to Rebecca Carlisle and a maid. En route to the kitchen, he will excuse himself to the toilet, find a uniform and disguise himself as a manservant.
Making his way upstairs and successfully dissuading a suspicious maid, he will find the Sisal Bardu painting in the Carlisle's office. However, as the painting is guarded, he will wander around the mansion cleaning and cursing Carlisle under his breath.
Should the guard in the study be gone, Haynes would take the opportunity to carve the painting down with his hobby knife, planning to come back for Carlisle another day. He will then leave the mansion and head for his car. If he is allowed to escape, the mission will be failed.
Personality[]
Haynes is a man deeply obsessed with art and paintings, or more so the possession of them. He has an insatiable need to possess the objects of his desire, and like a jealous lover, thoughts of his beloved paintings being previously owned torture him. He is a heartless man who would murder at the pettiest of reasons.
Trivia[]
- Haynes represents greed, desperate to own material possessions, regardless of what he has to do to obtain them.
- Haynes is so far the only elusive target to change outfits during the mission.
- He will freak out if the art is stolen before he can get to it, causing him to attempt to flee the grounds.
- He has extra dialogue if Carlisle is killed right in front of him. saying he doesn't have to worry about dealing with Carlisle in the future.
