Kohn-Ma

The Kohn-Ma were an antagonistic faction of the Bajoran Resistance introduced in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode Past Prologue. The group was named after its founders - Kohn Biran and Ma Jouvirna.

During the Cardassian Union's occupation of Bajor, the Kohn-Ma were one of many groups fighting the Cardassians, and were one of the more xenophobic factions of the resistance. However, when the Cardassians withdrew from Bajor the Kohn-Ma did not stop committing terrorist attacks on the Cardassians and even targeted Bajorans who they disagreed with. Shortly after the discovered of the Bajoran Wormhole the Kohn-Ma leader Tahna Los attempted to collapse the wormhole with a bilitrium explosive in order to drive all the aliens out of Bajoran space.

In 2370, a series of bombings occured on Deep Space Nine, and evidence was planted suggesting the Kohn-Ma was responsible. However, the bombings were actually the work of a Bajoran monk named Leiris who was working with Cardassians to regain control of the wormhole.

The Kohn-Ma agent Remara was assigned to assassinate Elim Garak but found herself unable to carry out her mission. She did warn Garak that other Kohn-Ma assassins would target Garak, but he soon left the station and returned to Cardassia after the Dominion war came to an end.
