Kombu Infinity is a minor antagonist in the manga/anime series One-Punch Man. Kombu arrived in Z-City, hearing the rumors of a powerful monster lurking in the city. However, when the monster couldn't be found, Kombu decided to pose as the said creature.
Appearance[]
Kombu's appearance appears to be shrouded in mystery. It mostly resembles a young, humanoid person with large eyes and a mouth lacking teeth. Aside from its body, it has long, seaweed tentacles as its hair.
Personality[]
At first glance, Kombu appears to have a calm personality. However, as it battles Golden Ball and Spring Mustachio, it reveals its twisted self, craving for a battle and posing itself as a threat.
History[]
Kombu Infinity arrive on the restricted area of Z-City after hearing rumors of powerful monsters living in the place. While it didn't find any monster, it is confronted by two A-Class heroes, Golden Ball and Spring Mustachio, who were sent by the Hero Association to investigate the same rumors. Golden Ball attacks Kombu by shooting one of his special golden balls, which it easily deflects. Kombu then grabs Golden Ball's leg and drags him through a water drain and smashes him against a wall, knocking him unconscious. Kombu then attacks Spring Mustachio, who defends himself with his rapier but realizes he is outmatched, so he talks with the monster while calling for reinforcements.
After knocking Spring Mustachio, Kombu decides to go after a populated area, but then crosses path with Saitama, who was returning from the market. Realizing the restricted area was not unpopulated, it decides to attack Saitama. The next scene then shows Saitama boiling some kombu, which he tells Genos he bought for a cheap price. When the other heroes arrive at the place, they just find an enormous crater over the buildings, so they assume another monster defeated Kombu Infinity.
The webcomic features an extra panel showing a crying Kombu Infinity with all of his hair stripped, implying that Saitama let him live.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Kombu Tentacles: Kombu is capable of growing an infinite amount of seaweed like tentacles from its head. They are as strong and durable as steel, making them very useful to use for both offensive and defensive measures.
- Super Speed: Kombu appears to be faster than the average human. It was able to react quickly and deflect Golden Ball's bullet, as well as evade Spring Mustachio's tomboy thrust.
