Kori and Kraki are minor antagonists in the video game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. They are two brothers from Skellige who hate all outsiders, especially those from the Continent. They appear in the sidequests "The Phantom of Eldberg" and "Stranger in a Strange Land".
Biography[]
When Geralt of Rivia enters the tavern in Arinbjorn he is instantly confronted by Kori and Kraki, who tell him only warriors of Skellige are allowed to drink there (despite themselves being shepherds and not warriors). Geralt's admission that he is from the Continent only makes them angrier as Kori believes foreigners to be pathetic. Another local, Jorund, intervenes to remind them of the law of hospitality, which causes the brothers to leave after vaguely threatening Geralt one last time.
After Geralt defeats the Phantom of Eldberg, he returns to Arinbjorn to collect his reward and again runs into Kori and Kraki who try to threaten him into leaving the tavern. Jorund defends Geralt and begins a fistfight, which Geralt must take part in. Somehow Kori manages to overpower Geralt and knock him to the ground, allowing the brothers to draw their swords and murder Jorund for associating with foreigners. A vengeful Geralt draws his own sword and kills them both.
Despite the fact he was defending himself, the villagers accuse Geralt of murdering the two brothers and take him to Madman Lugos for judgement. Lugos finds Geralt guilty of murder and sentences him to pay both brothers' weight in silver or be executed, only to pay the blood debt himself and release Geralt from prison.
Trivia[]
- The entire confrontation with Kori and Kraki can be avoided if Geralt completes the quests "King's Gambit" and/or "The Cave of Dreams" before going to Arinbjorn, which will also allow Jorund to survive.
