~ Kotoko singing about the innocent prisoners in "Deep Cover".

Kotoko Yuzuriha is one of ten secondary protagonists in MILGRAM. She was the tenth prisoner there, and like the rest, guilty of murder. She firmly believed in her system of justice, which caused her to end up killing a man.

Biography[]

Past[]

Kotoko used to be a law student before dropping out of college so she could fully dedicate her life to vigilantism. According to her Trial 1 interrogation questions, she had a dream of becoming a vigilante ever since she was in elementary school. She spent her life as a vigilante assaulting those she deemed "evildoers", possibly leading to their deaths from the injuries they received, although only one case of death is confirmed, that of a serial child rapist and murderer Kaneshiro Tsugumichi.

MILGRAM[]

Trial 1[]

Labeled as Prisoner 010, she joined the other murderers in the project. There's the vague implication she knows more about this than she lets on, considering she says there's "not enough information to make a move", but it's unclear just what she meant. Prior to her own interrogation, she stops Mikoto from attacking Es during his ("John Doe") by attacking him herself. She eventually knocks him out. She then learns normal prisoners cannot attack Es, and becomes curious how Mikoto was able to hit Es. She then leaves when it's time for Mikoto's song extraction. During her own interrogation, "TASK", she questions MILGRAM and why they organized this whole prison thing. Es themself doesn't seem to know, making her more curious. She then offers that the two join forces, where they tell her what they learn in interrogations, while she tells Es about the events at the prison. They yell at her to shut up, but she doesn't seem all that upset, only remarking that they're "stubborn". She then starts revealing details about the other prisoners, calling Es to yell at her again, and she then states she's seen the other prisoners have their actions and intentions changed after the interrogations. She then asks to join forces yet again, and then begins to make Es question their faith in MILGRAM by asking why this prison is necessary if they've already been charged with murder. She then states her murder would count as justified self-defense in a court of law, bringing things further into question. She then offers her hand to Es, offering to become their "fangs". Es is interrupted by the bell indicating the time for the song extraction, and then they proceed to denounce her idea as stupid and idiotic. She then follows into her first music video, "HARROW", showing her past and murder, after which she was voted innocent by a 67.41% majority.

Trial 2[]

With her beliefs now reinforced, she horrifically beats Mahiru and Fuuta, leaving Mahiru with broken bones and in a wheelchair, and taking out one of Fuuta's eyes. It's quite likely that, if not for Shidou, one of them would've died. She wasn't able to outclass Mikoto due to their equal strength and her not catching him by surprise this time, and then she was ultimately stopped by Kazui protecting Fuuta. She ran out of time to attack Amane after attacking Mahiru, so she decided to leave her alone. During her interrogation, "YONAH", Es immediately is mad at her for attacking the other prisoners. She then apologizes... for not being able to deal enough damage to Mikoto and Amane. Es is horrified that she was willing to attack Amane, a child, and she explains that's not something that would've stopped her. Es then yells at Kotoko, and she is confused, as she has become their "fangs", acting in turn with their verdicts. Es refuses to continue working with her, annoying her, so she calls them out for being fine with psychological abuse but not physical abuse, pointing out the double standards at play. Es continues trying to reject her "help", but she keeps refusing. She states that they've begun seeing the prisoners as their friends and family, something to protect, and dismisses it as a ridiculous notion, asking if Es is "really a prison guard". She then asks if they'll start giving them leniency for their looks, personality, or how long they've known them. Es angrily slaps Kotoko in a rage. She then catches her breath, and states what she did wasn't even violence. Es is confused, and then she proceeds to call them weak and fragile. What Es focuses on the fact she called them imperfect. They then begin freak out, and Kotoko decides to comfort them. She hugs Es, which seems to make them a little uncomfortable. She then says that by working together, they could improve the prison, and then the bell rings, signaling the time for the song extraction. Es then tells Kotoko to stop holding them, yelling at her, before hitting themself. Kotoko questions their sanity, and Es proceeds to denounce her worldview. She then proceeds to call them a weakling. She then begins ranting about those she perceives as weaklings, and Es finally decides to tell her that being the prison guard is not her job. She seems upset by this, and they proceed to send her into the song extraction. Her second song, "Deep Cover", primarily focuses on her hypocrisy and how she mostly "punishes the guilty" out of bloodlust and to have a reason to kill. She was then voted guilty by a 75.90% majority.
