Kratt is a minor antagonist in the 2025 indie metroidvania Hollow Knight: Silksong.
He is an odd flea that owns a spa caravan which he charges other bugs for using. Kratt displays a perverted lust for Hornet and often tries to peep on or sexually harass her, much to her fury.
He is voiced by Matthew Fitzgerald.
Appearance[]
Kratt is a short flea with grey fur and a green shell. He has white eyes and a short moustache.
Personality[]
A lecherous and creepy flea, Kratt puts on a facade of being a kind and altruistic person, allowing him opportunities to get closer to his targets. While initially affable to Hornet, it's made abundantly clear what his true intentions are when he gives her pet names like "Nectarsweet" and offers her favours in order to entice her into using his spa, much to her disturbance. Kratt displays a cowardly side as after his peeping is discovered by Hornet, he claims he was merely repairing his spa and allows her to use his services for free after she threatens his life. Kratt is rather arrogant, referring to himself as sweet and brave in his Needolin dialogue. He's also somewhat greedy as while he charges Hornet on a discount, he apparently charges exorbitant prices from the other fleas for his spa.
Biography[]
Kratt can first be found tangled in a bunch of roots in Greymoor, where Hornet must free him. He thanks Hornet for saving him and tells her that his carriage has a secret that she'll be able to access once he regroups with the other fleas. When Hornet finds Kratt at the Flea Caravan, however, it's soon clear that something's abundantly off as Kratt not only tries to give Hornet pet names, but also charges her suspiciously low prices for his spa, unlike the other fleas who complain of high prices.
Eventually, the reason for this is made clear when Hornet uses the spa, causing Kratt to slowly climb up carriage to spy on her. Hornet can strike him, causing him to fall off the roof. Kratt claims that he was merely repairing his carriage but Hornet sees through his lies and threatens to kill him should he ever attempt such a thing again. Kratt accepts this and lets Hornet use his services for free and doesn't peek again.
During the Ecstasy of the End wish, Kratt hosts the Flea Bounce game, which he invites Hornet to participate in so that he may "appreciate the beauty of her agile form" and continues flirting with her, clearly having learnt nothing from his earlier misdemeanours. Kratt himself will be one of the fleas that jumps up and can be pogoed off of to add to the score, with his slower ascent and descent making him a useful platform for Hornet to save herself from falling. He will continue hosting the games even after Hornet becomes Grand Champion.
Trivia[]
- In a similar manner to Millibelle from the previous game, when confronted for his peeping Kratt has collision physics with Hornet's needle and can be punted about, even being capable of being smacked into the muckmaggot infested waters outside of Fleatopia.
- Curiously, none of the other fleas except for Varga react to this, who noticeably jumps up in surprise.
- On the leaderboards Kratt has the worst score in every flea game.
