Krayt's Claw are the anti-heroic protagonists of the animated television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars episode "Bounty" and supporting characters in the Dark Disciple novel. They are a group of bounty hunters based out of Tatooine led by Boba Fett. During the Clone Wars, they consisted of around 5-6 hunters and took jobs from employers such as the Belugan leader Otua Blank and the Nightsister Assaj Ventress.
History[]
Safe Cargo Objective on Quartzite[]
Sometime after the Battle of Dathomir in 20 BBY, Bossk, Latts Razzi, and Oked were present at Chalmun's Cantina on Tatooine. Oked tried flirting with the Nightsister Asajj Ventress but was killed by the former Sith assassin. Bossk and Razzi invited her to their table and blackmailed her into replacing Oked's spot in Krayt's Claw. They bring her to their hideout where Ventress meets Dengar, Highsinger, and the team's leader Boba Fett. Ventress is dismissive of the young mercenary but opts to go along anyway.
Krayt's Claw travel to the planet Quartzite where they meet their employer Major Rigosso who hired them to protect a chest with unknown contents being delivered to the planet's ruler Otua Blank. Due to the planet's conditions, the group has to transport the cargo via subtram. On route to Blank's location, the tram is attacked by the native Kage warriors. The hunters manage to eliminate many of the Kage warriors but Dengar, Razzi, Highsinger, and Bossk are knocked off the tram. During a fight with the warriors, Fett knocks over the cargo to reveal that it is carrying Prisma Sodi, a young Kage woman who was kidnapped to be the Blank's bride. Although Fett intially tries to protect Prisma from the Kage Warriors' leader, she slaps him which allows the leader to incapacitate him. Ventress subsequently defeats the Kage warrior leader who is revealed to be Prisma's older brother Krismo. Fett has Ventress tie the siblings down and Prisma accuses Ventress of only caring about the money. When the young Kage woman says the nightsister could never understand what it is liked to be ripped away from family, Ventress sympathizes and decides to release the siblings. She force chokes and then gags Boba, leaving him in the chest intended for Blank. Having received her payment in spite of the deception, Ventress rendezvouses with the other members of Krayt's claw to give them their respective shares. She tells them to give Boba his share once he returns and departs with hope for a new future.
Mission to Serenno[]
When Jedi Master Quinlan Vos is sent by the Jedi Council on a mission to assasinate Count Dooku, he seeks out Dooku's former apprentice Asajj Ventress and meets with the Krayt's Claw on Level 1313 to ask about her whereabouts. Boba Fett and Latts Razzi tell Vos that Ventress is pursuing a bounty on Pantora.
Sometime later after Vos is captured by Dooku following a failed assasination attempt, Ventress hires Krayt's Claw to help rescue him. After paying the hunters 250,000 credits in advance, Ventress, Fett, Razzi, Bossk, Highsinger, and Embo travel to Dooku's palace and begin dispatching the nearby ships battle droids. Ventress locates Vos' cell only to realize that he turned to the dark side upon discovering that Ventress murdered his master. Meanwhile, Krayt's Claw faced off against Dooku and were able to restrain the Sith Lord for a brief period before being attacked by Vos. Unable to reason with the Jedi-turned-Sith apprentice, Ventress and Krayt's claw were forced to flee in disgrace and both parties later parted ways. Shortly after the Mission to Serenno, Ventress would sacrifice her life to save Vos and redeem him back to the light.
Imperial Era[]
Krayt's Claw is seemingly dissolved by the time of the Galactic Empire with most of the members operating as independent mercenaries rather than as a group. Razzi established her own criminal syndicate but her fate was unknown to her former teammates, but she was still an active hunter, often working with C-21 Highsinger. In 3 ABY, Fett, Bossk, and Dengar reunite as they are hired by Darth Vader to locate Han Solo and the Milennium Falcon. Dengar proposed an alliance to track Solo together but Fett declined, instead opting to send misleading coordinates so his fellow hunters would be off his trail. Fett proceded to hide his ship in the asteroid field and was able to follow the Milennium Falcon that managed to blend in with the garbage coming from the nearby Star Destroyer.
