Biography[]
Cartoon[]
Krunk appeared in the three-part miniseries "The Rebirth", as a member of the Hive, the tyrannical rulers of the planet Nebulos. When their leader Lord Zarak proposed an alliance with the Decepticons against the Autobots and the rebels they had allied with, Krunk was chosen to be partnered with Snapdragon, being binary bonded to transform into his head. He and Spasma approached Snapdragon and Apeface together, with Krunk warning them not to mess with them. During their first battle with the Autobots, Krunk joined a group of Hive Nebulans in tackling Brainstorm to recover the Key to the Plasma Chamber. He later accompanied the Decepticons back to Cybertron before evacuating following the Plasma Chamber being unleashed.
Comics[]
Krunk appeared in the Headmasters miniseries as the bodyguard of Lord Zarak. When the Autobots who had arrived on Nebulos sent Blurr as an emissary to communicate with the Nebulans, Krunk, under Zarak's orders, used a magnetiser gun to cause him to strike a peace statue, causing chaos and nearly war between the two races. After Autobot leader Fortress Maximus and moderate Nebulan leader Galen arranged a peace deal, Krunk helped Zarak contact the Decepticons on Cybertron. However, they and several other of Zarak's Nebulan allies ended up being taken prisoner by the Decepticons. Zarak convinced Decepticon leader Scorponok to replicate the Headmaster process Maximus and Galen had used to binary bond Autobots and Nebulans, with the prisoners as their partners. Krunk was paired with Snapdragon and took part in their first battle with the Autobot Headmasters, who they managed to capture. He took part in other Decepticon activities, killing a number of Autobots. However, Zarak realised their war was destroying Nebulos. He knocked out Krunk, who was guarding the prisoners, and set the Autobot Headmasters free after Galen had promised to lead the Decepticons away from Nebulos.
Krunk made his first appearance in the main comic in Issue #38 when he arrived on Earth with Scorponok's Decepticons. His only other proper appearance was in Issue #49 when he and the other Decepticon Headmaster partners revealed themselves to Earth Decepticon commander Ratbat.
