~ The Kryptonian Empire's motto.
The Kryptonian Empire are the overarching characters of the animated superhero television series My Adventures with Superman.
The Old Empire was originally a militaristic society that conquered and expanded their territories though brutal expansionism. Over time, the Kryptonian people eventually moved away from their violent beginnings in favor of genuinely uplifting other worlds with the resources and technology they had as opposed to one-sidedly subjugating them, and eventually abandoning any aspects of imperialism entirely
During their war with a enemy more powerful than even them, the Kryptonians had attempted to resolve the ongoing conflict peacefully. However, the Old Empire was destroyed by the Brainiac system when he used Krypton's greatest weapon against them for going against the old militaristic values they made generations ago and viewed their kindness as a threat to it's purpose as a program for war.
According to Jor-El, the original Kryptonian Empire was a powerful race who sought to expand their aid. However, over time, the rulers of the Empire began to consider that there are ways to expand peace without bringing more violence onto others and finally do what's right by their people. Jor-El himself even went to having peace talks with their last enemies without anyone knowing.
Feeling threatened by their compassion and desire for peace, the AI program Brainiac began to turn Krypton's greatest weapon against the planet to destroy it. At this time, a ghost-ship, one carrying the mysterious Nemesis Omega and a squadron of OMACs, attacked Earth unaware that Krypton was about to be destroyed by Brainiac. This battle would be known as Zero Day, which saw to the formation of Task Force X. During Krypton's final moments, two children, Kara Zor-El and Kal-El, were sent off world. While Kal-El would make it to Earth, Kara would be taken by the evil machine and turned into an enforcer for his twisted version of Krypton.
While Kal-El was raised by a kindly couple named Jonathan and Martha Kent who installed great values in their son, dealt with the repercussions of Zero Day, Brainiac would enslave multiple planets, one of which was Thanagar, and did defeat at least one Green Lantern. Using mental conditioning and the lie that he was her father, Brainiac would make Kara blissfully unaware that she was destroying any planet that disagreed with his views and would preserve the minds of the defeated with the Kryptonian Mind Meld.
Jor-El had programed a digital backup that would explain everything, and the existence of a beacon that would alert Kara to his location. Using it, Clark was able to alert Kara, and by extension Brainiac to Earth. Kara would travel ahead to greet her cousin. However, she was disgusted by what Superman had become. After a brief battle, one where Superman had developed a freeze ray breath, Brainiac ordered Superman be taken alive.
During the trip to Kandor, Kara and Superman would bond, where she revealed that against Brainiac's wishes, Kara had amassed a small collection of souvenirs of the various planets she had visited. Upon meeting Brainiac, Superman was horrified at the machine's views of the universe. Kara would beg Brainiac to stop torturing her cousin, only for Brainiac to use his conditioning again to make her forget. It was only thanks to her collection, that Kara was able to snap out of her trance. Realizing something was wrong, Kara went to the various worlds she went to only to see they had been destroyed at her hands.

Trivia[]
The Kryptonian Empire's motives may be near identical to that of the Viltrum Empire, but it is more similar to the Roman Empire.
