Commander Kubal, also known as the Collosal Titan, is the main antagonist of the live action film Attack on Titan, The Movie based on the manga of the same name.
Biograpghy
Kubal is a commander that resides in a community protected by from harm by the Titans a race of large humanoid creatures that devour people, with large 50 meter high walls keeping them out. However deeper into the community are two more sets of walls even higher to seperate the districts. Kubal resides within the inner third district and lives like an aristocrate. He also appears to be aware of the origins of the Titans as former humans exposed to a serum that mutated them into giants, the deadly side-effect of a military test. Years before Kubal learned of Eren Yeager's father's attempt to recreate the Titan serum and stormed his house and burned it down taking him and his wife with them, presumably killing them. However Kubal seemed to have taken the Titan serum for himself as he would later be able to transform into the Collosal Titan.
After being hidden in relative peace from the rest of the world for over 100 years the government decided to expand beyond the wall and decided to form a Survey Corp to venture beyond the outer walls, and explore the world they'd been cut off from for over a century. Kubal however disliked this idea as he would lose his hold over the people and the aristocratic beniefts he enjoyed living within the walls. Seeking to change the government's minds he snuck through the crowds in the outter district briefly bumping into Armin, though he failed to recognise Kubal, and made it outside the walls without anyone seeing him. Once there he transformed into the Collosal Titan and began repeatedly kicking in the wall. This came as a shock to the nearby garrison as no Titan higher than the wall had ever been seen before. This also disproved Eren's disbelieve in Titans existing. The Collosal Titan's attempts to kick in the wall caused chucks of it to shower into the nearby outpost, killing many Garrison members. Eventually the Collosal Titan kicked a large enough hole into the wall and the other Titans spilled into the district, killing hundreds. As a result the entire district was abandoned and the survivors of the attack fled to the inner district, though became subjects of poverty and dispair.
2 years later Kubal formed the Survey Corps using their new vertical maneuvering equipment to combat the Titans with the aim of sealing the hole in the wall, then clearing out the district of the Titans to reclaim the land they lost. In reality however this was a means for Kubal to eliminate those who would stand against him by sending them on a suicide mission against the Titans. Though Kubal acompanied them the regiment quickly fell under attack and when a thief stole the explosives intended to plug the hole in the wall, Kubal quickly retreated. Most of the squad however were trapped and many of them were devoured including Eren. However Eren discovered his ability to transform into a Titan and escaped death before slaughtering most of the Titans in the area. As he passed out Mikasa rescued him from the Titans body.
However Kubal held Eren suspicous of espionage and held him on trial, secretly always intending to kill him to eliminate a threat. When Sodua tried to stand up for Eren, Kubal realized he was about to expose the origin of the Titans and had him killed. Before he could execute Eren Captain Shikishima / Armored Titan showed up and killed most of the Survey Corps and Garrison present but hesitated when Mikasa stood in the way, and took off with Eren. After Eren defeated the Armored Titan and plugged a bomb between the wall to seal the hole beneath it, Kubal revealed himself and expressed suprise that they actually made it and offered him and his comrades a place at his side but they refused. Kubal in rage then shot Armin in the leg but Sasha shot arrows at him in retaliation and he fell from the wall, but transformed into the Collosal Titan revealing his secret to them. Collosal Titan engaged the group killing Jean and grabbed a hold of Eren laughting at his efforts to stop him. Before Collosal Titan could kill him the Armored Titan wielding the bomb climbed the walls and shoved it into the Collosal Titan's mouth and detonated it, killing them both.
