Kurage Doubler (クラゲダブラー Kurage Daburā, lit. Jellyfish Doubler) is a minor antagonist of Uchuu Keiji Gavan who appears in episode 22. He is a jellyfish-like Doubler who disguised himself as a black market jewelry dealer named Kozo Ishiguro (石黒幸造 Ishiguro Kōzō) and killed the wealthy individuals throughout Europe and Japan for their valuable collectibles.
He was portrayed and voiced by late Shozo Fukuyama. His roar voice was provided by late Eiji Maruyama, who also voiced Maicon Beast, Ocarina Beast, Keiki Beast, Yukai Beast and Warrior Psychorror in Uchuu Keiji Sharivan, Girugiru, Paspas, Kotokoto, Muumuu and Gasgas in Uchuu Keiji Shaider, Girarist in Kyojuu Tokusou Juspion, Kumason in Jikuu Senshi Spielban, Rhapsody in Choujinki Metalder, Chang Kung-Fu and Makumba in Sekai Ninja Sen Jiraiya, and Injectnoid, Goatnoid, Distnoid and HermitCrabnoid in Kidou Keiji Jiban.
Biography[]
The Kurage Doubler has been going all over the Europe and Japan where he murdered each wealthy individuals (including Mr. Hayami whom he killed which led to his son Rikiya became the Phantom Thief X) for their valuable collectibles. When Retsu infiltrate the Ishiguro mansion where he first encountered Phantom Thief X, both of them were caught red-handed by a group of bodyguards who guard the entire mansion.
The next morning, Ishiguro and his men are meeting up with another person in an unknown building in exchange for an emerald. After showing him the suitcase of money, the eyestalk pops out from the cash and shoots the man, killing him instantly which allowed Ishiguro to take the emerald away from his hands. However, the Phantom Thief X then infiltrates the building and attempt to snatch the case of money, but only to get caught red-handed by Ishiguro which led to him and his men chasing X who took the emerald as well. Retsu later went to save and protect X from the Crushers. Back at Makuu Castle, Ishiguro is ordered by Don Horror to kill both Gavan and X in order to reclaim the jewels that the latter stole.
Now the Ishiguro Auction has begun in a cruise, the Phantom Thief X snucked inside the cruise to reclaim the Star of Africa from Ishiguro for his father, but only for him to fell for his trap and get captured by him and his men wher he was being put in front of the special show as a target practice for the performance. However, Retsu managed to rescued X while using all of his disguises to fight against the cruise crew before revealing Ishiguro's true form as a Doubler. The Doubler eventually revealed that the auction was meant to be a trap to lure Retsu out before he went to fought him, even after Retsu transformed into Gavan. After they're dragged into a Makuu Space, Gavan is struggled to fought against the Doubler, even when the fighters are firing at him which he had to call upon Dol for a backup. Despite this, Gavan finally managed to finish the Doubler off with his Gavan Dynamic.
