“ | Listen Oden, to me all of these people in this country are sinners who persecuted the Kurozumi family!! They can all die for all I care!! I claimed the seat of Shogun for the sake of destroying this country!! For the sake of revenge!!! Long ago, my grandfather committed a crime and was sentenced to seppuku!! If our family were to simply fall from grace, then that would have been fine!! However, all the remaining relatives were hunted down by self-proclaimed allies of justices out of nowhere!! They were beaten or thrown into rivers or outright killed!! Those fools scared me so much I could not even sleep!! Even when the person responsible for the committing the sin was already dead!!! If someone bore the Kurozumi name, even a brat would become a sinner!!! | „ |
~ Orochi explaining his motive for his crimes against the Wano Country. |
The Kurozumi Family were an evil family from the anime/manga series, One Piece. They are an evil clan who conspired to take control of the Wano Country and destroy the Kozuki Family bloodline with the help of the Emperor, Kaido.
However, in the "New Onigashima Project", they lost power once again when they were betrayed by Kaido and his crew. With both Orochi and Kanjuro's death, Kurozumi Tama is the sole survivor of the clan even though no one is aware of her heritage, and she has no loyalty to her clan due to her parents’ death at the hands of the falsely Shogun Orochi, making the Kurozumi girl an orphan.
History[]
Past[]
Decades ago, the patriarch of the Kurozumi Clan, who was a daimyo of the Wano Country, plotted to take power over the country by taking poisoning the other daimyos while the current shogun was deathly sick without an heir. However, the plot was foiled when the shogun's wife bore a son. Later on, the plot was then exposed and the Kurozumi patriarch was forced to commit seppuku while the rest of his family were stripped of their noble status and belongings. At some point afterwards, all the Kurozumi were persecuted by Wano's populace; vicious vigilantes hunted down everyone who had Kurozumi in their name and slaughtered them without mercy.
A survivor of this hunt named Orochi then encountered two other relatives named Higurashi, who was out at sea at the time, and Semimaru. They all conspired to take control of the country and destroy the current ruling family, the Kozuki Clan. They also found another relative named Kanjuro, who agreed to act as a spy to gain the trust of the Kozuki and gather information.
Orochi himself became a servant to Shimotsuki Yasuie in order to steal money from him to produce weapons later on. Using her shape-shifting skills, Higurashi got him a job working at the main castle of Wano. She then posed as the country's shogun to appoint Orochi as a temp ruler. During all this, he got into contact with Kaido, and with the help of him and his crew, they were able to take full control of the Wano country, forcing many of its denizens into slave labor to produce weapons.
Present[]
20 years later, Orochi learned from his spy that Kinemon and the other retainers, along with Momonosuke has returned and orders the death of them and to end the Kozuki Bloodline.
During a party as Onigashima, when Kanjuro arrived and revealed that Kinemon, the Strawhats and the other samurais would be arriving at Onigashima to stop Kaido, Orochi became enraged as he thought the alliance was over when he orders the bridges from other regions and the boats to be destroys, only to learn that the alliance successfully carry out their plan. So, his plan was to have Momonosuke killed on stage to finally end the bloodline of the Kozuki clan. However when he learned that Kaido plans to turn Wano into a pirate paradse, he became more enraged as he explained that Wano is his place and he chose what he wants to do with it, but then Kaido cut off Orochi's head, presumably killing him.
