Kurt Grimm is the titular secondary antagonist of the comic book series The Witcher: The Ballad of Two Wolves. He is the son of Karl Grimm, the founder of the Temerian city of Grimmwald, and the older brother of Kopek. After the fall of his family and the takeover of Grimmwald by the Hogge sisters, he became a bandit to make money, which is why he was cursed into a Werewolf.
Biography[]
Past[]
Kurt was born the oldest child of Karl Grimm and an unnamed woman, then his youngest brother Kopek was born. His father was a miner who opened a copper mine located near the city he built with his sons with huge funds through copper mining called Grimmwald. Despite the huge resources in the mine, the copper deposits have run out and because of this Karl has huge debts, fell into alcoholism, sex addiction and cheated money. Finally, before his death Karl sold his estate and Grimmwald to the wealthy Hogge sisters, making the city a luxurious place in Temeria.
Kurt could not come to terms with the fact that the family's fortune and the city of Grimmwald were being sold for next to nothing. According to Leslie Hogge, Kurt tried to convince some of the residents of Grimmwald, including Hogge's sister, to buy the city only to bring about its downfall. Because after Grimmwald was bought, the Brothers Grimm were given a 6-month lease. Wanting to find a way to quickly earn money for the demand, Kurt had to become a bandit, allowing for heinous acts. Some time later, Kurt and his gang of bandits attacked the temple of a priestess somewhere in the Mirt region, where his younger brother Kopek witnessed the horrible things done to the priestess by his brother's gang. After that, the priestess committed suicide and cursed Kurt's gang and his brother, causing her to hate him even more. Kurt, wanting to prevent the transformation into a werewolf, began to buy elixirs in Crane Meadow.
The Witcher: The Ballad of Two Wolves part 1[]
Although Kurt physically appears in the first part, Gerart and Dandelion heard announcements about the elimination of the werewolf in Grimmwald. According to Red, the werewolf exists in Grimmwald because he works for the Hogge sisters to scare the old residents of Grimmwald who do not like the rule of the Hogge sisters. When he came to the Hogge sisters' residence to inform them that he was taking over the order for the werewolf, the sisters immediately denied that a werewolf was roaming there, explaining that these were rumors to discourage the sisters from the old residents of Grimmwald. In the Grimmwald inn, Kurt began to demolish everything that is near Grimmwald, Geralt wanted to fight the werewolf, but he gave up the fight when the werewolf revealed that the city belongs to him.
