Kyôka is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Silver Fullbuster) of the Tartaros arc in the manga/anime series Fairy Tail.

She's a Etherious member of the dark guild, Tartaros, the elite leader of the Nine Demon Gates, and the right-hand woman of the guild's leader, Mard Geer Tartaros. She's also one of the arch-rivals of Erza Scarlet.

In Japanese, she's voiced by Ai Kayano and in English, she's voiced by Janelle Lutz.

Appearance

Kyôka has a very distinct appearance, most notably due to her half-human/half-aviary characteristics. She appears to be of average height and weight, yet possesses an exceptionally large chest and a curvaceous hourglass figure. Covering her form is a skin tight suit that further emphasizes her chest, reveals her thighs and partially exposes her buttocks. Her shoulders and arms are concealed by a long, striped jacket with flaring sleeves, a four-way split tail back and a tall and gaping collar that completely conceals Kyôka's neck, with her sleeves covering most of Kyôka's hands, which take the form of sharp and scaly talons, whilst a thick pair of bands wrap around the woman's thighs, stopping where a similar set of bird-like feet begin.

Her head is adorned with an intricate helmet, this covering almost the entirety of her face save for her eyes and mouth. On the sides of her helmet, it possessed two long wing-like pieces of hair protruding, curving out around her face. Her hair falls from the back of the helmet as well, passing through her hood to her lower back, being wrapped tightly into a thick band. And lastly, finishing her helmet is a large gem of sorts, which sits directly over Kyôka's forehead

Personality

Like the rest of her fellow dark mages, Kyôka is a determined and tenacious being, who is also heavily sadistic, as she loves to torture people in worst ways possible, as best seen with Erza. Like her kind, she looks down upon humans, viewing them as insects. She is also incredibly confident in her abilities, proclaiming that she cannot be defeated. So when Erza begins to overpower her, she is enraged that a human would stand to an Etherious being like her, showing her superiority mindset like the rest of her comrades show.

Despite her prideful and sadistic nature, Kyôka does seem to possess a few redeeming qualities, such as her genuine care for her guild mate Seilah, who is extremely loyal and even infatuated with Kyôka, with the two heavily implied to be in a sexual relationship. She also shows to be heavily devoted to Zeref, doing whatever it takes to ensure the world he desires will come to a reality.
