Biography[]
Maddie receives a 911 call from a woman named Catherine who wants to book a hotel room. During the call, Maddie realizes Catherine is in a potential domestic dispute in a vehicle. As tensions rise between her and her partner, Maddie also hears a baby crying, prompting her to direct them toward a hotel where police can intervene. After losing contact with Catherine, the male passenger answers, and soon after, Maddie hears a crash.
The 118 arrives at the scene of the accident, discovering the car has rolled down an embankment and is on fire. Once they extinguish the flames, they find only Catherine inside, severely burned, while the male passenger and the baby are missing. Athena, along with the 118 and other officers, begins searching the area. They discover an unburned pacifier, indicating that the baby got out of the car before the crash.
Athena and Romero visit Maddie to inform her that the man with Catherine couldn't be her husband, as he is working in Alaska; they suspect she may have a boyfriend instead.
Later at home, Maddie retraces Catherine's call and, with Chimney’s encouragement, realizes an important detail she overlooked and decides to contact Romero. Romero, who is at Catherine’s apartment with Athena and her mother, finds the yellow nightgown mentioned in the call and leaves the apartment afterward.
Athena soon receives a call from Romero, who is in a neighboring apartment looking directly into Catherine’s bedroom. They begin to suspect that Catherine might have had a stalker. They gather to discuss a potential suspect, Kyle, a handyman working on the empty apartment across from Catherine. Maddie calls Kyle's sister, Cheryl, who reveals that his wife and child are hiding from him, and he moved to Los Angeles for a "fresh start". Cheryl helps them contact Kyle, allowing them to track his location, which they believe is a nearby park.
At the park, Kyle sees a woman playing with her daughter and tells the baby he's found her new mom. Meanwhile, Romero searches the park and discovers the woman’s daughter has been left alone but has been found by another woman. A BOLO is issued for Kyle’s vehicle.
While driving, Kyle is hit by a police car and tries to grab his gun, which has slipped off the passenger seat. The 118 arrives to assist as Kyle exits the vehicle with the baby and attempts to flee. Chimney quickly recognizes him, and as Kyle drops the baby carrier, Chimney catches it. As Kyle tries to flee, Athena arrives in her squad car, blocking his path. Buck then tackles Kyle who is subsequently handcuffed by Athena, and the 118 soon finds the abducted mother from the park in the trunk of Kyle's car.
Catherine is later reunited with her baby in the hospital, while Kyle is presumably sent to prison for his crimes.
