Kyle Wilkie is the main antagonist of the Shadowërk arc in Law & Order: Organized Crime. He is an Internet tech who created a criminal website called Shadowërk, through which his customers pay for assassinations and revenge rapes.
He was portrayed by Winter Andrews.
Biography[]
Hailing from Ohio, Wilkie had no friends but was adored by his mother. In turn, Kyle treasured her as his only trusted person.
In his adult years, he began to loathe the world and believe that everybody was a liar. On Christmas, he had a friendly talk with a taxi driver and was inspired to create a website, which was intended to bring out the truth aspect about every human being. Initially, the site was a failure, and he became so upset that he tried to hang himself while leaving a note behind. However, in the process of doing so, he heard someone respond and quickly saved himself to view his monitor and soon more flocked to the site. Happy with the progress, he began to help his subscribers.
He would call the site Shadowërk and made a website on the dark web where he would have his subscribers pay him to put out jobs on the site such as rapes and murders. Kyle would also have whoever took the job to take a selfie of the act as proof of payment. Kyle would keep the pictures as mementos, and would use them as stimulation while performing autoerotic asphyxiation, having discovered after his suicide attempt that he found choking himself sexually arousing.
"With Many Names"[]
While recovering in the hospital, he is arraigned in his bed and, against the advice of his lawyer, talks to the detectives. He denies being crazy and defends his website as a way to show what people are really like. He refuses to shut it down at their order however, he is shocked when the detectives reveal they intend to charge his mother for his crimes. Kyle believed they were bluffing and says his mother was the one who gave him up until they reveal she didn't and stuck by his side even when shown his suicide note. They even remark while he doesn't believe in love, his mother was the only person who loved him and refused to budge, despite being devastated by the note.
Realizing they are telling the truth; Kyle declares he does love his mother and says she had nothing to do with his crimes. After they demand he prove it, Kyle agrees to cooperate and shuts down the website in front of the detectives of Organized Crime and SVU, Assistant District Attorney Dominick Carisi Jr., and Chief Tommy McGrath. He is last seen being wheeled into his prison cell.
He is then imprisoned for the facilitation of rape, murder, and the murder of a police detective after Whelan dies of his injuries. Wilkie is ultimately sentenced to life in prison.
