Kyo's Father is one of the antagonists in the series Fruits Basket. He is biological father of Kyo Sohma.

In the 2001 version of the anime, he was voiced by Kazuhiko Inoue in the Japanese version and E. Bailey in the English dub and in the 2019 version of the anime, he is voiced by Shinobu Matsumoto who also voices Tajima Uchiha from Naruto Shippuden in the Japanese version version and Aaron Roberts who also voices Uta from Tokyo Ghoul in the English dub.

Appearance

He look similar to his son, Kyo; he has black hair.

Personality

He is pushover who would only blame Kyo for the death of his wife. He became deluded by the fact that the Cat must be punished for its deeds, so he desperately wants Kyo to go to the Cat's confinment room for the rest of his life. However, it is implied that he was abusive to his wife and his behavior resulted in her death. Despite this, he holds Kyo responsible and believes that he should spend the rest of his life locked up.

Biography

He blames Kyo for his mom to committing suicide, despite how it was his abusing her for giving birth to the cat that drove her to it. His wife in turn kept Kyo from going outside and pretended to love his true form when she didn't, until she couldn't pretend anymore and killed herself.

Years later, Kazuma informs Kyo & Tohru that he needs to go out urgently and will be back soon. He meets Kyo's real father-who is disgusted by Kyo since he is possessed by the Cat zodiac. He suggest that Kyo be put away in a pitch-black room as the cursed cat deserves. Kazuma stands up to him, disuses away all that as told about Kyo and says how Kyo has changed and so should his father, Kazuma expresses how much he loves Kyo and he will stand up for him against anyone.

After Kyo's curse broken, Kyo tries to reconcile with him, and is violently rejected by the man. He blamed Kyo for his life being made a misery and his wife for giving birth to him in the first place. He told Kyo that it was impossible for him to live a normal life after Kyo told him of his plans to live the rest of his life with Tohru, Kyo tells his father that he will be back.
